Hammerton Islington Lager | Beer Review

Posted on Sep 16, 2015 by

Hammerton Brewery is a microbrewery based in Islington brewing small batch beers with the aim to bring great tasting beer back to the borough and also re-establish the Hammerton Brewery name in London.

The brewery originally began brewing in 1868 but sadly ceased in the 1950s with the brewery eventually being demolished. In 2014 a member of the Hammerton family decided to resurrect the family name in brewing.  The result is a range of beers based on modern and traditional brewing techniques influenced by beers from around the world.

Hammerton Islington Lager is an unfiltered, unpasteurised lager brewed with San Francisco Lager yeast fermented at ale temperatures to release delicate, fruity esters and Vienna malt to add a hint of sweetness.
