DAB D-Pils, or Diät Pils, is a low-carbohydrate pilsener from historic Dortmunder Actien-Brauerei. Founded in 1869 in the German city of Dortmund, by 1879 the brewery was exporting their beer worldwide to countries including Australia, Japan and India. Dab D-Pils is a bottom-fermented lager beer, brewed according to the traditional Dortmunder brewing process with barley malt, yeast, hops and water.
Wondering which beer to drink on a diet? DAB D-Pils has a mild, clean taste with only 0.7g of carbohydrates and only 33 kcal per 100ml. Despite its low-calorie credentials, this German pilsener has a full flavour and well-rounded bitterness, with a crisp dry finish.

Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild cornish ans light grassy. Bitter, medium sweet cornish and mild grassy. Dry, light bitter and mild cornish finish.
Derek B –
Very pleasant but the taste is a little thin compared with it’s regular pils brother.
Steve Hawkins –
Sugary essence. Very crisp, clean flavour when sipped. Nice flavour, which isn’t too harsh. Very palatable. The finish is light and very moreish. A pleasant choice!

Admit I prefer the Edelhopfen as it’ more hop forward and less malty than this but for a low carb beer this is clean, refreshing, keeps a good head and I ALWAYS stock up when available.
Darren J Lockwood –
A pleasant crisp tasting beer at 4.9% ABV one I will buy again
Dean Griffiths –
Another wonderful offering from DAB, they don’t do rubbish.
Very smooth, low carbonation and very very moorish.
Chris Meechan –
Quite unusual in that it is a diet pilsner, but not a great example of the style. Slightly malty but lacking flavour.
Alex C –
A good beer but not the best from Dortmund, crisp and clean.
Alex Ginge –
Not a bad lager, but there are better.
Paul Boniface –
Clean and crisp taste, slight malty flavour but for me lacking depth.
Milan Macurak –
Of course, it’s DAB. Definitely not the Export version but in my opinion equally good with less voltage which I always prefer. Light, crispy, and as usual for DAB, very smooth. I will definitely buy this beer again.
