The Bavarian brewers have been masters in their trade for centuries and brew excellent pils beers. According to the pilsner method in the town of PIlsen the Bavarian master brewed the very first one!
Ayinger Bairisch Pils (5% ABBV) – a glimming, light-yellow beer with the fragrance of aromatic hops from the “Hallertau” region of Bavaria and it is only these that are used in the Ayinger beer! The beer is highly fermented, a smooth taste initially, but also mild and sparkling in body… delicious!
Ayinger Bairisch Pils is accentuated by the floweriness of the hops aroma. It has a more pronounced bitterness on swallowing which quickly fades from the taste buds
Luis Branco –
Light, clean, dry and herbal. Perfect for hot summer days.
The beer is highly fermented and therefore smooth on the initial taste sensation, but also mild and sparkling in body
Adam Lister –
Dont let the small 330ml bottle fool you, this is a gorgeous pilsner. Complete with a nice aroma and hop intensity, this is one all pilsner lovers should try.
John Sharp –
This was a pleasant surprise, clean crisp with a lovely floral smell and a cracking hoppy taste, good price too!
Mark Rhoden –
Smooth, malty and slightly crisp with some grass, hay, grainy notes and earthiness. Okay, quite balanced.
Steven Nicholas –
Straw gold colour with a good head, handsome beer. Smell is quite boozy, grainy and herbal. Taste is very balanced malts and hops and finishes crisp. It’s quite strong for the style but still a very good pilsner.
Stujago –
A better than average pilsener. Bitter with floral notes. Another nice beer from a quality brewer.
Alan Hastings –
A typical German lager/pilsner decent taste refreshing and very smooth went down a treat.
Malcolm Ball –
A good tasty pils with a dry finish – better than the Ayingerbrau lager in the 70s ( which actually was probably the best of the lagers at the time!).
Sean Mc –
This beautiful beer, along with Rothaus Pils Tannenzapfle, is among my current favourite pilsners. Pours a pale, golden yellow – very light and crisp taste with sweetness breaking through. Perfect. My only criticism with both this and Rothaus is the bottle size! Wish they came in 500ml rather than 330ml bottles! Still, a stunning beer worth every penny.
Kris –
Lovely beer – one of the cleanest crispest German pilsners you can find
Dean Griffiths –
Quite a Smokey taste and although decent, in my opinion, not as nice as the Ayinger Lager Hells and not a patch on the Jahrhundert bier.
Chris Meechan –
A light, clean pilsner with a floral notes, very crisp and clean.
WARWICK FALCONER –
Another great beer from Ayinger. Unlike come Czech pils I didn’t find it bitter at all. Not in the same league as Rothaus Pils but still very enjoyable.
Paul Boniface –
An excellent pils. Clean, smooth with a great taste. Highly recommended.
Vlad –
Crackery, floral, herbal, hay notes, lemon, spicy. It has a great balance between sweetness and bitterness. Semi bitter and dry. A great example of the style.
