A strong, dark Doppelbock that is more than meets the eye. Malty-aromatic; sweet, pleasantly heavy, with an intensive fragrance and strong flavour. A World known speciality just like its baroque namesake, the brilliant painter and architect Cosmas Damian Asam.
Beer connoisseurs appreciate Weltenburger Kloster Asam-bock especially because of its strong-sweet, very aromatic and persistent taste.

This is a quintessential doppelbock. It has very dark fruit, plum, dark caramel, sweet and malty flavours. Very quaffable. A nice drink to have in the Winter months.

Brown color with tan head. Aroma has caramel, dark bread and toasted malt sweetness. Taste is bready, slightly sugary with a bit of alcohol spice on the finish. Medium body and carbonation. Quite nice, easy drinking bock.

If you like Bocks and Doppelbocks, you will love this exceptional beer. It pours deep clear mahogany brown with a generous head which lingers, and coats the glass with fine lacing.
The aroma is distinctly bready with toffee and huge waves of malt. The taste is bread, raisins, bonfire toffee and roasted grains. Sweet, rounded and thoroughly drinkable.

A dark, malty wheat beer with a nice biscuity base and hints of prune. A great beer for a sunny afternoon in the garden.

This is such a joy to drink. My favourite German beer by a mile! Delicious dark in the glass, heavy malts on the nose but it drinks so very easily, so smooth. I started drinking these when it was originally brewed at 6.9% which was pretty strong. Now the ABV has increased to 7.3% . Its such a wonderfully complex beer, I savour every mouthful and would happily drink two or three in sequence. A truly wonderful beer 🙂

This one is well worth trying, the malt is not overpowering and it has a slight caramel taste. Bags of bock effect with depth and flavour.

Pours a dark reddish brown with small beige head. Aroma of light roast malt, blackcurrant, chocolate, treacle. Taste is sweet with notes of treacle, tart berries, coffee, caramel, moderate bitterness in the finish. Smooth medium to smooth body. Lovely moreish beer.

Good and tasty German beer

Quite a strong beer which gives it some oomph! Enjoyed the slightly sweet maltiness which balanced the extra alcohol. Not a session beer, but very enjoyable.

If you like beer with a strong liquorice aftertaste this is for you. It is not for me, that’s my personal opinion. I have tasted better Dunkel bier.

Some interesting flavours being balanced together here, definitely a thinker of a beer!
