Other Information

Tegernseer Hell is a classic Munich Hell Beer, otherwise known as a Helles Lager. Pouring a crystal clear, light golden colour, this beer offers up delicate floral, honey aromas. The first sip reveals a full-bodied malt flavour with bready characteristics and low bitterness – an easy-drinking, yet flavourful brew.

The name Hell Beer comes from the German ‘Helles’ meaning ‘pale in colour’. Characterised by their crisp clarity and light golden colour, these beers are designed for refreshment. When you buy Tegernseer Hell, you will find that it’s perfect chilled on a warm summer’s day, as well as pairing well with food. The soft malt character complements light dishes such as fresh shellfish or salad.

For some products supply can be inconsistent, whether that is at the brewery itself or how often we or its supplier imports it. For products that are out of stock, you can sign up to be notified of its return on the product page. From there, as soon as we book the stock in we send an email to you.

Bottles and labels can and do vary. This means that the images shown on our website may not be the same as current stock items. If the bottle or label is important please check before ordering. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.

Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.

We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.

We do not have a minimum purchase amount, but delivery charges may apply.

Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.

We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.

We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.

Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.

If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.

Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.

Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

Please check the tracking first, as they may provide an explanation but we welcome the opportunity to nip issues in the bud. Either call us on 01553 812000 or email our [email protected] to hear from our customer service team. Check out delivery details for more information.

If you have changed your mind for whatever reason, you can consult our returns information, or get in contact on 01553 812000.

  1. AdmiralH

Disappointed with this beer. I felt it was weak and watery, and not a match for the many other excellent helles beers offered by Beers of Europe.

  2. Jim

A classic. Highly recommended Helles. Very light and a good session beer

  3. Catriona MacKechnie

A German-style helles malt accented lager that balances a pleasant malt sweetness and body with floral hops and a slight bitterness

  4. Nick King

Lovely light pilsner, great for summer, pairs brilliantly well with salty snacks. Exemplary example of a German brewing.

  5. Jamie Bond

Currently my favourite alcoholic beverage. Was recommended to me by a seller/friend up here in Scotland but like Beers of Europe it’s not the easiest to get hold of. Personal opinion 5/5 light, crisp and very refreshing. Embarrassed buying supermarket shelf beers now!!! Order up and enjoy peeps! J. Bond

  6. David Hanson

Quite a light helles, easy drinking. Pleasant enough…

  7. Dean Griffiths

Excellent crisp smooth Hells. Very easy on the pallet and very moorish, would highly recommend.

  8. Peter Fawcett

Not a bad easy drinking lager

  9. Hywel Davies

One my favourites! Easy drinking, not too hoppy. Light in colour. At 4.8% you can get through a fair few.

  10. Paul C

    For me, an average Pilsner.
Very light, smooth and a nice sessionable drink it leaves a slightly bitter aftertaste.
    Tastes weaker than comparable Helles.

  11. Christine Saunders

    nice smooth easy drinking beer

  12. Mark

I’d lived in Germany for over 20 years but sadly had to recently move back to the UK.
One of the many things I worried I’d be missing from Germany are the amazing biers. But many thanks to Beers Of Europe I’m still able to enjoy probably my favourite helles, Tegernseer.
I can now each time I have a cold Tegernseer Helles, sit and enjoy fond memories of the stunning lake, beautiful mountains, and the brilliant brewery.

Great service and a decent cost
    Many thanks

  13. Allan

Similar to Augustiner helles with maybe a little more of an after-taste – a great beer to enjoy with a BBQ.

  14. william a

Hoping this will be back in stock soon!
Crisp, light and refreshing. Most enjoyable and a cracking Bavarian beer…

  15. Paul Boniface

A nice session drinking beer, very smooth and light

  16. Michael Moore

Another fine beer from Tegernseer, a little lighter than the spezial.

  17. Kris

Very tasty helles from a fine brewery – I would recommend investing the extra 10p to get the Spezial version

  18. AL

Decent helles, light and subtle but in a good way. Would happily have it again.

  19. Stoose

Mmmmm really nice, drank a few of these and no hangover at all like most German beer.

  20. Justin

Number 2 in my top ten worldwide beers, second only to Augustiner Hell. Lovely light, refreshing, slightly sweet tasting beer, great for a session as you don’t get a hangover or a headache, as long as you don’t drink anything but this! They sell this in Bierschenke in Blomfield Street (near Liverpool Street) so if around that area pop in for a few and their curry wurst and chips are amazing.

  21. Harry Watson

Another nice beer from the Bavarian region of Germany.Nice and smooth very drinkable.

  22. Stephen Parker

One of the best helles you’ll ever enjoy. Up there with the Augustiner

  23. Chris Boddy

This is a lovely, light beer – great head, not too fizzy and very easy to drink. I prefer it to the other Hell beers – perfect at the end of a day at work or for a beer in the garden.

  24. Bernard Hawcroft

This is a delightful Helles Bier from Southern Bavaria, bright, refreshing and faintly sweet. The Spezial from the same stable costs a bit more and is stronger but if you have bought this first I would not worry, this does the trick.

  25. WF

Outstanding beer in the Dortmunder category. I preferred this to Augustiner.

  26. Adam Harvey

    Light, clean, crisp, refreshing. Decent!

  27. Barrie Taylor

    Fantastic all round drink.

  28. Luke Manley

One of the best helles although I prefer the spezial.

  29. Jens

Brilliant Bavarian helles, the perfect beer garden drink and easily up there with the best, like Augustiner, Schneider or ABK.

  30. Paul Evans

I recently re-discovered Hell/Helles lagers and this is my favourite.

  31. David Beckham

Absolutely lovely beer, easy to drink.
