Other Information

Spaten Münchner Hell Beer is an Helles lager from the Spaten-Franziskaner brewery in Munich. Spaten beer is respected throughout the brewing world, and in 1894 the brewery was the first to brew a bottom-fermented Munich Hell lager. Pouring a shining golden colour, Spaten Münchner Hell Beer offers up floral hops and a faint toffee aroma from the malt. The first sip reveals a smooth lager with a balanced bittersweet flavour – it’s lip-smackingly refreshing and crisp. Buy Spaten beer in the UK from Beers of Europe, to discover the flavour of the world’s first hell beer.

For some products supply can be inconsistent, whether that is at the brewery itself or how often we or its supplier imports it. For products that are out of stock, you can sign up to be notified of its return on the product page. From there, as soon as we book the stock in we send an email to you.

Bottles and labels can and do vary. This means that the images shown on our website may not be the same as current stock items. If the bottle or label is important please check before ordering. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.

Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.

We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.

We do not have a minimum purchase amount, but delivery charges may apply.

Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.

We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.

We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.

Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.

If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.

Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.

Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

Please check the tracking first, as they may provide an explanation but we welcome the opportunity to nip issues in the bud. Either call us on 01553 812000 or email our [email protected] to hear from our customer service team. Check out delivery details for more information.

If you have changed your mind for whatever reason, you can consult our returns information, or get in contact on 01553 812000.

  1. Stujago

This is a very nice lager. Reasonably sweet, clean and crisp which ensures that it is smooth and drinkable. It is very fizzy. I would definitely drink again.

  2. Aidan Turton

Very nice lager, refreshing when it’s nice and cool on a hot day. Easy to drink, not too heavy and has a great taste. Not too gassy either so you can have more than a few! Will buy again. I must say I prefer the Oktoberfest version though.

  3. Bradley Flannigan

Superb. Best of gear. In the bayern Munich tier of German beers. Would buy again

  4. Derek B

I liked this a great deal, very refreshing and easy to drink.

  5. Allan Edgar

Doesn’t get same love as the other ‘Big Six’ Munich beers but by no means the worst (4th I have in my Pantheon). Fresh, crisp and very session-able. Highly recommend.

  6. stuart allan

The best Pils you can get

  7. Andy Nichols

Quality! Crisp, refreshing perfect tasting Helles Lager. Has everything where it should be on taste but to a fine point. Would happily have have it as a main stayer in my lager stock.

  8. Craig Gilhooley

One of my favourite beers. A very distinct taste.

  9. John H

This beer is simply stunning crisp and golden, Munich’s best which can only be beaten by going there and having it on draft but until then this will certainly do.

  10. Bernard Hawcroft

A superb beer. This, together with Augustiner (rather different in style) are the two finest Munich beers in my opinion and they play in a strong field.

  11. RJ

Very good Helles. Not my absolute favourite but definitely will be getting more

  12. Richard

A very fine beer indeed, If you haven`t tried this beer your missing a trick.

  13. Paul C

    A really enjoyable Helles.
Smooth texture, golden coloured with predominantly hoppy flavours.
    The aftertaste is slightly sweet.
Not at the top of my list but good quality.

  14. Alex Ginge

I love all true German lagers, but this is my absolute favourite. If your first sip of Spaten Munchner Helles doesn’t bring a smile to your face and make you go “ahhhh”, then you are lost my friend.

  15. Kul

A glorious bright golden colour, with a wonderfully volumous head, offering up floral, slightly creamy sweet aromas. A smooth, slightly bitter sweet taste that is clean and crisp with a great body on the palate. A definite favourite.

  16. WJ

From the brewery that gives us Franziskaner wheat beer…..so how can you go wrong. Slightly sweet with only a hint of bitterness. Excellent beer.

  17. William Johnson-Smith

A excellent example of a Münchner Helles and well worth trying.
