Creamy essence. Reminiscent of blue moon. Wheat is there, with a fairly harsh aftertaste, which again is wheaty.

Not a bad brew at all, this. Not much on the nose as I opened the bottle which then pours with a lovely, frothy head. Again not much nose to the froth, but the taste is very different to most wheats as it has a nice, bitter tang to it. I also sensed a bit of caramel in there as well as a spice, almost clove-like. It would quite probably be nice with a slice of orange in it, but I prefer lime, though I might try it with orange next time. For the price, this is a quality, must-buy-again beer. I’d recommend it.

The usual cloves and elderflower start but more subdued that most wheat beers. Slightly dry and a bit malty. I found this beer to be quite pilsner-like and very drinkable, in quantity. It’s an excellent beer.

I like weiss beers, so very few will get a rating lower than ‘3’ (I’ve yet to do that). But for me, this beer is probably my least favoured of the weiss that I have tasted. That’s not to say its not an acceptable beer to drink. I’d certainly have one if offered. I just felt that the overall experience felt a bit watery compared to other weiss beers. I did not get that mouth consuming punch of taste that other weiss tend to do when first sipped. With so many to choose from, I don’t think Oettinger weiss will be in my cart again.

Not as good as most hefweizens, it tastes as it should with a nice sweetness but does give the impression of being mass produced and slightly watery.
