Ayinger Jahrhundert Bier (5.5% ABV) , was first brewed in 1978 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Ayinger Brewery.
Ayinger Jahrhundert Bier is golden yellow colour with a slightly flowery yeast and a honey-ish aroma. It tastes a little spicy and full-bodies to start with, mild before swallowing and soft with a refined sparkle and fades with a well-balanced hint of bitterness. A very drinkable harmonious beer! Conrad Seidl, the Austrian ‘Pope of Beers’ say’s “It is a malty beer that pronounces the precoous earthy quality of malted barley” – this is a beer not to be missed!
Otto The Bier Dude –
Pale golden colour with medium white head, aroma very malty, grain, straw. Taste malty as well, grass, grain, lower bitterness, bit sweet, very light body. Easily drinkable lager with a great taste.
Stujago –
I really enjoyed this lager. For me it symbolises everything about why German lager is streets ahead of the competition. Ayinger descibe it perfectly as ‘harmonius’. My other favourite helles are Paulaner and Hofbrau. This beer is a hybrid between the two. Bready, yeasty, grassy, malty, sweet flavours. It is supremely sessionable with just the right amount of fizz.

Wasn’t sure what to make of this. Nothing wrong with it, but it just didn’t inspire me, and not sure it really added anything to the Ayinger range.
Bernard Hawcroft –
One of the best Bavarian beers around. Great depth and flavour.
Paul C –
Really enjoyable beer.
A beautiful golden colour,it had grainy and malty aromas.
With a reasonable head it left a pleasantly slightly bitter aftertaste.
Ayinger never seems to disappoint.
Graham Horne –
A lovely beer, will hopefully be getting it again in the future and will try a few more other Ayinger brews
DSK –
This was a very pleasant surprise from Ayinger. I’ve tried most of their other offerings, but not this one.
It’s delightfully delicious and reminded me of an Oktoberfest/Maerzen style of beer. Very drinkable!
Johnny Fellingham –
Loved it. Wishes in bought more! Will defo buy again

Straw, hay like in colour, bright, beautiful white foamy head. Slightly bitter, fills the mouth with flavour, leaving a lingering gentle taste, a great beer,
Amanda Vinson –
Quite sweet with malt. Pretty smooth, just too sweet.
John Sanders –
Ayinger Jahrhundertbier was first brewed to commemorate the brewery’s centenary – and went down so well that they have continued brewing it for a further 43 years and counting. I can see why. It pours crystal-clear, straw-coloured with a beautiful, creamy head. The aroma is strikingly yeasty, but there is a sharp, lemony hint which percolates through the breadyness. The taste is subtle: sweet(ish) and distinctly floral, with a ticklish hoppy finish that is worth waiting for. Smooth, crisp and tasty.
Andy Cambs –
Lovely smooth, sweetish beer. Will definitely order again.Looking forward to it coming back into stock soon!
Derek B –
This relatively young brew recipe by German standards is excellent and very drinkable. Deserves my 5* rating.
Kris –
Another great beer from one of my favourite German breweries – this one is differently interesting with a clear yeasty taste
Dean Griffiths –
Another cracking Pilsner from Bavaria. Very light in colour low carbonation and with a clean crisp taste.
Would thoroughly recommend and will certainly order again.

A superb pils with a lovely honey aroma, full flavoured and great tasting to the last drop. This is an excellent pils, one to be on the repeat order form.

Eddie Hager –
This beer is very easy to drink. Just strong enough and with a good flavour. I came across this beer when my usual choice wasn’t available. As i come from Bavaria, I was aware of this beer and gave it a try and I’m sure I will order it again.
WJ –
Compared to other Ayinger beers this one is ever so slightly underwhelming. Still a good pils though with hints of sweetness.
Luke Manley –
Great beer. Would buy again.
Mark Woodward –
Compared to the other Ayinger beers, I find this brew a little lacking in flavour. Most Ayinger brews variants warrant five stars
Steven Nicholas –
This is possibly my favourite Ayinger offering from a great brewery. Subtle sweet malts balanced by lingering hop bitterness and a medium body. Very refreshing and moorish.
