De Leite Fils à Papa VII is an oak-aged dubbel kriek from Belgian brewery, De Leite. Part of the limited edition Fils à Papa ‘pop-up’ series, inspired by the creative whims of the brewers, De Leite Fils à Papa VII is the 7th such beer to be produced. De Leite Fils à Papa VII is a dubbel kriek, a sour cherry beer, aged in oak barrels to give a funky, oaky flavour to the beer.
Pouring a deep brownish-cherry colour, De Leite Fils à Papa VII offers up aromas of oak, wood and cherry. The flavour is smoky, with a bitter dark chocolate character. Buy De Leite Fils à Papa VII to add this unique, limited edition beer to your collection.
Neil Ward –
A good fruity sour but not too sweet as some of them can be. Lots of subtle flavours. Really liked it.
Kristin –
Nice complex fruity sour, it has a proper sour taste without tasting of vinegar. The cherry is obvious in the nose, but a lot more subtle in the taste
David Hanson –
Very good indeed, sour cherry & caramel, woody & herby.
Chris Meechan –
A barrel aged Tripel, spiced and fruity but very tart. Another unusual beer from De Leite
Alexander Moore –
Lovely fruity sour ale. Pours a reddish brown with a tan coloured head. A complex beer with the oak sourness surrounding the sweeter fruit. A long satisfying finish.
Malcolm Stubbins –
Top notch Belgian sour (version 9).
Would definitely recommend it, if you like sour beers!

On opening the bottle you immediately smell the cherries. Very acidic with lots of cherry flavour. Although the label calls it a double kriek I’d put it firmly in the Flanders red category.
