St. Peter’s Brewery is based at St. Peter South Elmham, near Bungay in Suffolk. The brewery itself was built in 1996 and is set in a range of traditional former agricultural buildings adjacent to St. Peter’s Hall. St. Peter’s uses water from their own deep borehole with locally malted barley and Kentish hops to produce their range of cask conditioned ales and bottled beers. They brew so-called traditional beers, such as bitters and milds. Up until the nineteenth century, it was common to add fruit and honey to beers to create special seasonal beers and St. Peter’s are replicating this with some of their more unusual beers. Their vision is to introduce delicious, interesting ales and beers to a world market. Dark, sweet and full-bodied, St Peters Plum Porter offers up aromas of damson and blackcurrant. The first sip reveals the rich, dense flavour of plum, against the roasted malt flavours of toast and coffee. Buy St Peters Plum Porter for a rich, fruity porter, packed full of delicious plum flavour.

St Peters Plum Porter is 500 ML and 5 % ABV. I was impressed with the taste of this porter. It has a nice fruity taste and a interesting aftertaste. One I will buy again.
Lynda Prile –
Smooth & fruity, like liquid jam
Chris H –
Wouldn’t say it’s the best porter St Peters do but a decent porter nonetheless. Was a tad worried the fruity notes would make this too sweet but found it pretty enjoyable.
Andrew Bowater –

Paul Harper –
Nicer than expected! Sweet and fruity but not excessively so.
David Hanson –
Very good plum porter, loads of fruit in the nose & on the tongue, quite jammy with coffee & malt in the back.
Saul Abbott –
Really pleasant plum flavour, quite sweet but not sickly however lacking body, ie a little on the thin side. Boost the alcohol content and it would help. Pleasant on the taste buds but lacking mouth feel
Neal Haynes –
A lovely porter, not as sweet as the ingredients would lead you to expect, but dark and full bodied with malty notes. increasing the depth with a higher ABV would improve it’s enjoyment.
