Elgoods is a family owned brewery housed in the North Brink Brewery in the heart of the fens. The Brewery was established in 1795 and was one of the first classic Georgian breweries to be built outside of London.
Plum Porter is a rich, dark and sweet ruby port with plum overtones. It is an award winning beer that is perfect for the winter months.

Travelling along the A10 between Downham Market and King’s Lynn, you will come to a small village called Setchey, turn next to J.S.W Car Sales on to Garage Lane and we are located approx. 100m down the lane on the right-hand side. Our address and opening hours can be found on the Contact Us page.
Yes, there are age restrictions in place. In the United Kingdom, the legal age to purchase alcohol is 18 years old. Beers of Europe strictly adheres to these regulations and by agreeing to our Terms and Conditions on checkout you confirm that you are over 18 years old. In store, we operate a Challenge 25 policy, which means that if you appear to be under 25 years old, you will be asked for identification to verify your age.

For some products supply can be inconsistent, whether that is at the brewery itself or how often we or its supplier imports it. For products that are out of stock, you can sign up to be notified of its return on the product page. From there, as soon as we book the stock in we send an email to you.
Bottles and labels can and do vary. This means that the images shown on our website may not be the same as current stock items. If the bottle or label is important please check before ordering. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.
Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.
We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.
We do not have a minimum purchase amount, but delivery charges may apply.
For orders between £25.01 and £60, delivery is charged at £5.99 (3 working days) or £7.99 (next working day). Some areas are excluded and will incur extra charges. Please see postcodes listed in our Terms and Conditions.

Customers can amend their orders as long as the order has not been picked and packed ready for despatch. If you wish to make an amendment please call us as soon as possible on 01553 812000.

We use a variety of thick and sturdy cardboard boxes and dividers to hold each bottle individually. Any remaining spaces are filled with biodegradable air bags to stop movement of the contents. Glasses are wrapped in bubble wrap and cardboard to ensure they arrived in once piece.
When placing your order please add the details at checkout. We regret that if your order has been packed and is ready to despatch that amendments cannot be made.
All of our orders are shipped without any pricing or payment details, these are in the confirmation email. The only paperwork in the box contains a summary of the order and addresses.
On checkout you can add a message to your order.
Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.
We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.
We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.
Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.
If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.
Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.
Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

Elgoods plum porter is 500 Ml and 4.5 % ABV. I was impressed with the smell and interesting taste of this ale. It has a nice fruity taste and a slightly sour but pleasant aftertaste.

Very drinkable porter, plenty of clean, plummy flavour alongside roasty edges. Tastes like they’ve used essence rather than whole fruit (no dry, tannin-like flavours for example), so while it’s quite enjoyable, there are more authentic examples out there.

Has a strong plum taste, albeit very much on the sweet side. Also has a slight ale taste to it rather than a porter (lighter & bubblier as opposed to heavy and flat). Worth a try if you’re after a porter with a lighter, sweeter more bubbly taste.

i never got a particularly strong plum flavour from this, unlike the other reviews. if i didn’t know it was a plum porter i dont think i would have picked up on it. it’s still a very nice beer tho and i’d get it again. would be nice with a bit more plum but i liked it anyway.

Pours near black with small beige head with nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, dusty chocolate, fruity plum. Taste follows the same path – roasty, cocoa dusting, fruity plum but a well balanced adjunct addition, a light grassy and spicy hop. Medium bodied, semi-drying. Good stuff.
