St. Peter’s Brewery is based at St. Peter South Elmham, near Bungay in Suffolk. The brewery itself was built in 1996 and is set in a range of traditional former agricultural buildings adjacent to St. Peter’s Hall. St. Peter’s uses water from their own deep borehole with locally malted barley and Kentish hops to produce their range of cask conditioned ales and bottled beers. They brew so-called traditional beers, such as bitters and milds. Up until the nineteenth century, it was common to add fruit and honey to beers to create special seasonal beers and St. Peter’s are replicating this with some of their more unusual beers. Their vision is to introduce delicious, interesting ales and beers to a world market. St Peters Honey Porter is a traditional English Porter that is auburn red in colour and finished with honey for a truly unique aroma and taste. Honey aromas on the nose and flavours of honey, chocolate and hints of vanilla make this a unique and pleasing ale.
Nice –
exaclty what it says on the tin. Not entirely for me, i usually go for wheat beers but nice in its own right. you can definitely taste the honey in there

Initial chocolate notes are complimented well by vanilla and the honey seeps through at the end. This beer certainly delivers on its description but it’s not for everyone. I found it a tad too chocolatey and that with the honey made it too sweet. Decent beer though.

I agree with the other reviews. There is definite chocolate, vanilla and honey flavours, complemented by some bitterness which results in a unique porter.

I am a big advocate of this brewery’s beers, but on this occasion I’m only going to give this beer four stars.
I think that the combination of a porter with chocolate, vanilla and honey is maybe just a bit too complex. Definitely an honey after-taste… I will persevere!

I feel this breweries stouts and porters are generally lacking in body and this is no exception. Add to that an overly floral taste, which didn’t compliment the beer taste in my opinion, and i would say this is one of my least favourite stouts. There was a pleasant honey taste a few seconds after the swallow but the, almost intense, floral nature didn’t work for me
Andrew Bowater –
Love this brewery however this isnt a good drink for me i found it to over powering on the honey also to floral in taste

I love honey and I love Porter but this beer was so disappointing !
The taste was so overpowering I couldn’t drink more than a few mouthfuls and I’m sad to say the rest went down the drain – unheard of in my house !
I think this is probably one of those drinks you either love or hate !
The description made it sound so tasty that I bought 2 bottles – big mistake !
