Weihenstephaner Pilsner is a German pilsner from the world’s oldest brewery, Weihenstephaner. Born on Weihenstephan Hill in 1040, the brewery has survived at least four fires, plagues, the dissolution of the monastery and numerous invasions – and is still brewing traditional Bavarian beer in its original location today. Weihenstephaner Pilsner is a balanced, easy-drinking pilsner with a pleasant bitterness and Noble hop aroma.
Pouring a glittering golden colour, Weihenstephaner Pilsner offers up earthy aromas from the hops. Fairly hoppy as pilsners go, the bitterness is nicely balanced by crisp malt sweetness. Serve chilled as an aperitif, or pair with light dishes such as chicken salad or risotto. Buy Weihenstephaner Pilsner to discover a hoppy pilsner from the world’s oldest brewery.

This is s lovely beer. Best pilsener I have tried thus far. Very clean and crisp. It has a sweetness but the flavours are harmonious with just the right amount of fizz. Very sessionable!

As a big fan of the Weihenstephaner Brewery I was delighted to come across their pilsner. Not too hoppy but still tastes like a pilsner should. I highley recommend this for those who cant stand too much Hopiness.

Decent Pils. Not my absolute favourite, but definitely one to try as a good session ale.
Bernard Hawcroft –
Pleasant enough but I felt that, compared with the Munich classics, it was a little lacking in body and finish.
Dean Griffiths –
Excellent Pilsner, can’t wait for it to come back in stock so I can grab some more.
Paul Rushton –
Great classic German pils

First time for a Pilsner from this brewery.
Really nice drink.
Sharp, golden and reasonably balanced with hoppy and malty tastes.
Not dry or moorish enough compared to others.
Paul Boniface –
A really good session pils, well crafted and balanced. One to certainly order again and again.

Sweeter than most pilsners, tends more towards a helles. Weihenstephaner make excellent beer and this one is no exception.
Peter Wootton –
A pilsner that features in Roger Protz book “300 beers to try to try before you die!” Brewed from German pale barley malt and hops from the neighbouring Hallertau region. Pale gold in colour and very refreshing. The taste is a lovely combination of malt, hops and fruit.
Luke Manley –
Very nice beer. Would buy again.
Steven Nicholas –
Quite a lemony light pils, quite bitter but enjoyable and easy to drink. Weihenstephaner knows how to do lager!

Have to admit, sweeter and more Helles than a Pils IMO however best brewery in the world and whatever they do, I’ll drink. Some citrus notes, not overly carbonated but enough hop character to see it to 4 stars. Not as is Vitus is the greatest beer on Earth or anything and the Dunkelweiss a close 2nd. Try it!
