The title of the oldest brewery in the world is in the hands of Weihenstephaner, founded in 1040 on the Weihenstephan hill north of Munich in Freising. The brewery has operated for almost 1000 years. Along with some of the world’s most knowledgeable brew masters, it has produced an excellent range of beers, all in accordance with the German Reinheisgebot which has helped it to secure numerous awards internationally for its products as well as being appreciated by connoisseurs in over 30 countries worldwide every day.
Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier weighs in at 5.4% and is a German wheat beer at the top of its class. The world’s oldest brewery certainly knows a thing or two about brewing a high quality beverage whatever the style. It appears a yellow/gold in colour with a fine poured white head. The haze, as is signature of a wheat beer, is present, and releases an aroma of cloves, banana and nutmeg coming from the malts used. The malt is once again evident in the taste, balanced by the fruit and spices that the hops bring to the table and it combines beautifully to produce a spectacular wheat beer that does exactly what it should. Refreshing and smooth, this beer can be paired with seafood or fish as well as cheese or Bavarian dishes. This is brewed to a tradition centuries old, but when the result is this good, why change?

Yes, there are age restrictions in place. In the United Kingdom, the legal age to purchase alcohol is 18 years old. Beers of Europe strictly adheres to these regulations and by agreeing to our Terms and Conditions on checkout you confirm that you are over 18 years old. In store, we operate a Challenge 25 policy, which means that if you appear to be under 25 years old, you will be asked for identification to verify your age.

For some products supply can be inconsistent, whether that is at the brewery itself or how often we or its supplier imports it. For products that are out of stock, you can sign up to be notified of its return on the product page. From there, as soon as we book the stock in we send an email to you.
Bottles and labels can and do vary. This means that the images shown on our website may not be the same as current stock items. If the bottle or label is important please check before ordering. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.
Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.
We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.
We do not have a minimum purchase amount, but delivery charges may apply.

We use a variety of thick and sturdy cardboard boxes and dividers to hold each bottle individually. Any remaining spaces are filled with biodegradable air bags to stop movement of the contents. Glasses are wrapped in bubble wrap and cardboard to ensure they arrived in once piece.
When placing your order please add the details at checkout. We regret that if your order has been packed and is ready to despatch that amendments cannot be made.
All of our orders are shipped without any pricing or payment details, these are in the confirmation email. The only paperwork in the box contains a summary of the order and addresses.
On checkout you can add a message to your order.
Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.
We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.
We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.
Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.
If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.
Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.
Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

This is a very nice hefeweizen. It has a lovely golden orange colour snd the head was expanding foam. The flavours are very balanced without being strong. An easy drink with a slightly tart undertone.
