Brinkhoff’s No.1 is a German pilsner from Brauerei Brinkhoff in Dortmund, Germany. Brinkhoff’s No.1 was first brewed in error in 1887 and this ‘false brew’ was accidentally sent to a customer – however, the recipe was a runaway success with drinkers. Brinkhoff’s No.1 was born, and has been brewed ever since! Pouring a golden colour, Brinkhoff’s No.1 offers aromas of biscuit malt, grassy hops and toffee. The flavour is crisp and malty, with a moderate, earthy bitterness. Buy Brinkhoff’s No.1 for a well-balanced, authentic German pilsner that almost didn’t make it into existence.

Bottles and labels can and do vary. This means that the images shown on our website may not be the same as current stock items. If the bottle or label is important please check before ordering. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.

Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.

We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.

Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.

We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.

We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.

Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.

If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.

Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.

Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

Please check the tracking first, as they may provide an explanation but we welcome the opportunity to nip issues in the bud. Either call us on 01553 812000 or email our [email protected] to hear from our customer service team. Check out delivery details for more information.

  1. James Martin

Throughly enjoyed this beer in Dortmund, and this is the real deal. Being imported from Dortmund it tastes the exact same. An easy to drink session beer but doesn’t compromise the flavour in the process. Would highly recommend.

  2. Steven Palmer

Less well known outside of Dortmund but has a classic authentic Dortmund style and taste. Clean taste and not overpowering.

  3. Allan

First tried draught at the Westfalenstadion (Borussia Dortmund) and was impressed – transfers well to a bottle. Good, simple lager with minimal gas for a mass-produced beer. Certainly worth trying.

  4. Derek B

    Very moreish!!
I really enjoyed this pils, it tastes like a less intense Jever but none the worse for that. I certainly will be drinking more of it.

  5. Steven Allen

This is a slightly hoppy lager with a malty finish , very fizzy and plenty of flavour. It compares very favourably to any of the mass produce lagers, that are available from supermarkets. Nothing remarkable but I could easily have this as my” go to ” lager. I give it 4 stars but wanted to give 3.5.

  6. Andy Nichols

Nice classic pils. Pretty balanced. One of those you’d need to compare to your preferred pils.

  7. Chris

Standard Pils, well balanced with a nice clean taste. Also agree with the other review in regards to better than mass produced Pils, definitely something I’d drink again..

  8. Hywel Davies

An excellent pilsener. Good price. Easy drinking. Served extra cold. Be awesome at a summer BBQ! Will be buying again

  9. Dean Griffiths

First tried this one when I went to watch Dortmund play is they sell it inside and outside the stadium.

Very nice smooth, Crisp Pilsner. Very light in colour with head that lasts and very low carbonation.

  10. Craig Cannell

This is a crisp easy drinker. A Pilsner without any aftertaste, full of flavour.

  11. Ryan Davis

As a regular visitor to Dortmund for football, I was over the moon to see this pilsner was stocked by Beers of Europe.

It’s been a part of some of the best weekends, so always keep a regular stock at home!

    Great drop 👍🏻

  12. David Blears

Brinkhoff‘s No 1 is the best beer in Dortmund. A great-tasting pils to be enjoyed anytime.

  13. Sacha Brown

It’s the only thing my cousin drinks when l go over to visit in Dortmund. Forgotten how good this is. Very easy drinking & only 200 calories a bottle. Perfect Summer Pilsner

  14. Christine Saunders

nice smooth easy drinking beer, full of flavour

  15. Al Paton

A wonderfully crisp, sharp and refreshing example of Pilsner.
    Highly recommended.

  16. Paul Boniface

Nice understated lager, very clean, light and crisp. A beer for any occasion

  17. Alan Hastings

This one was again a first for me and boy was I not disappointed fresh, crisp and very refreshing will definitely be purchasing again.

  18. Michael Moore

Nice refreshing pilsner, good easy drinking.

  19. David Cussell

Brinkhoffs No1 is an excellent pilsner, I lived in Germany for many years and I am so glad that I have found a place in UK to buy it. Used it at a party and all loved it. Thank you.

  20. Kul

Not really a fan of most pilsner but this one is great. Pours a beautiful light straw yellow, a fine white head, great body and a taste that is smooth, with a hint of pilsner bitterness but never lingering.
Aroma is sweet with a hint of grassy maltness. A pilsner that surprised me & one that I will buy again, give it a go.

  21. Kenneth Davies

Brinkhofs No 1 is a great pilsener from one of the last breweries left in Dortmund and is a favourite of mine and my brother in law. Will certainly be ordering this again

  22. Alex Ginge

A tasty pilsener. Thought I’d give it a go and pleased I did.

  23. Harry Watson

Another Dortmund beer I would approve of easy drinking and smooth.

  24. Milan Macurak

Just an honest German Pils. Very easy to drink with clear and focused taste. Another of mine everyday beer in Rein-Pfalz region.

  25. Mr S

This was nice, I enjoyed this pils. A solid score of 3.75/5 for this very easy drinker.

  26. WF

Good German pils, nothing really sets it apart from any of the others but that’s not a criticism.

  27. Barrie Taylor

    A fantastic beer to drink.

  28. Kris

Very smooth easy drinking pilsner that stands well against its peers in a very high bar market.

  29. Gavin Harrison

If you went into your local and asked for a pint of lager and were presented with this, it would exceed your expectations. Beautiful crystal clear pale colour and a good head. Slight hoppiness and bitterness on the palate delivers a smooth full flavour.

  30. Jens

Great Pilsener from Dortmund. Dry, yet smooth, with a long, slightly bitter finish, absolutely brilliant if you like this style of beer.
