Verzet Banjo Funeral is a Belgian quadrupel ale from modern Belgian brewery, Verzet. Verzet Banjo Funeral is available from October in a limited quantity for the winter season. Brewed with quadruple the amount of malt compared with a standard Belgian ale, Verzet Banjo Funeral is strong and complex in flavour. The brewers also use smoked malts in this limited edition brew, giving it a rich smoky flavour.
Verzet Banjo Funeral pours an inky black colour with aromas of caramel, roasted malts and wood smoke. The flavours follow the nose, with the addition of liquorice and chocolate. At 9% ABV, the alcohol complements the rich flavours with a sweet, warming glow. Buy Verzet Banjo Funeral for an extra special limited edition smoked ale, with a dark, complex flavour.

I do like a nice Belgian Strong Dark Ale. I also like rauch bier. This did not disappoint me. It has hints of chocolate, caramel, salt and you can taste alcohol. It has a very slightly smoky feel which makes this beer a must to try for me, and the result is a beer with a complex yet balanced taste. Well recommended.

Quite average for a quadrupel, comparatively to its Dutch and Belgian sisters. Could not find the smokey taste and the beer doesn’t look strong for its alcohol level.. Drinkable anyway

In my tulip glass dark brown the fine head was short lived Aromas of dark fruit and smoky coffee malts Flavours of parkin, port, plums vinous dates cocoa. This is well worth sipping as it takes time for the cookies to arrive.
