This brown beer was originally only brewed for Christmas, but over the centuries it became a force to be reckoned with.
Maredsous Brune has a creamy foaming head and is a dark burgundy colour and is easily recognisable by its expressive aroma. A generous caramel bouquet is completed with masterly fruity touches.

Nice Dubbel, but tastes very strong which dominates so hard to get the flavour notes

Deep brown color with a slight tan head. Lovely caramel malt and raisin aromas with rich bready malt flavors with boozy raisins on the finish

A nice dark, rich and strong flavoursome Belgian Beer

Interesting. Rich and malty, but just a hint of something sour and fruity in the smell and flavour. For my taste, not quite up there with (say) Rochefort 8, but still wonderful. Great colour (someone said dark burgundy, which is about right).

A very enjoyable dubbel. Rich and malty with a subtle fruity aroma. A great balance between alcohol content and taste. I’m not much for beers over 8% and this one approached my limits. Enjoy!

In my glass a deep red, amber good fluffy head Smells of ripe red fruit with smoky malts My tongue gets toffee hazelnut raisins it has a cola like mouthfeel. The ABV is well hidden. Good but would not be my first choice for a carbonnade
