Duvel Moortgat Brewery was founded in 1871 by Jan-Leonard Moortgat, who was descended from a family of brewers that lived in Steenhuffel, Belgium. This year in celebrating of their 150th anniversary their brewers have devoted their relentless passion and patience to create a new and special Duvel. One that embodies all the daring, youthful spirit and slightly Duvelish character of the Duvel team…!
A beer that offers the perfect balance between Belgium’s rich brewing heritage and contemporary innovation. In short, a Duvel that is nothing short of pure temptation!
Introducing: Duvel 6.66%. The latest in a long line of delicious beers, brewed for your pleasure and for every occasion… since 1871.
This Duvel is expressive, mild and deliciously drinkable. No fewer than 6 different hop varieties are used for Duvel 6.66%: just like the classic Duvel, it’s based on the noble and exclusive hop varieties Styrian Golding and Saaz. The flavour is then balanced by adding four expertly selected hop varieties to the mix, which also involves the dry-hopping method.
Steven Smith –
Hard not to drink the lot, real nice beer, great dinner beer
David Gouldson –
Decent enough Belgian Beer.
Andrew Drummond –
This is really nice. Not sure quite what I expected, but it’s pale and sweet, and slightly cloudy. And a bit safer on a school night than the normal Duvel…
Richard Busby –
Excellent ‘light’ beer but seriously dangerous because it is so quaffable.
David Hanson –
Very tasty, quite fruity with a bitter kick
Kevin Matthias –
New one for me. Distinctive Duvel yeast & spice character is detectable, much more citrusy than the classic. Likewise drinkable, but the lower abv makes it a nice summer option.
Stujago –
Different to the standard Duvel in that it is milder, fruitier and more refreshing, especially when cold. There is a nice bitterness and a good frothy head.
Ian Gaskins –
Good quality Belgian beer like all other Duvels, just not as strong, more of a session brew.
Chris Meechan –
A slightly lighter version of Duvel. Sweet orange flavours with floral notes.
Kris –
A much more drinkable Duvel at the slightly more approachable ABV. Still a good depth of flavour at that level though.
Luke –
Deep flavours, very crisp and clean. Lovely beer.
Michael Horsley –
A very likeable beer, although very different to the Duvel Tripel Hop, the only beer I had tried before from this brewer. I’m glad it’s 6.66, rather than 666 the number of the beast…
Stephen Brocklesby –
Very moreish, more heavenly than 6.66
