Other Information

Brugse Zot is a fantastic light blonde beer which is brewed in Bruges by the Halve Maan Brewery. The brewery began in 2005 when Xavier Vanneste renovated the old brewery which has a history going back to 1856, when it was owned by Xavier Vanneste’s ancestors.
Once the brewery was restarted, Xavier bought Brugse Zot onto the market and it soon gained a name for itself due to its special recipe. Brugse Zot is now the only beer being produced in Bruges town centre.
Brugse Zot popularity has grown over the years due to its refreshing taste and unique character. This character has come about due to it being brewed with four different types of malts and two types of aroma hops. The finished product is full bodied with a sweet malt character which is nicely balanced with fruit tones and is followed with a crisp and clean finish.
Brugse Zot also goes through a re-fermentation that helps develop the taste while it’s in the bottle.
Our recommendation is that this blonde beer is perfectly paired with most seafood.
Since the brewery first started, Halve Maan has further developed their beers, including Brugse Zot Dubbel, which has been produced using Saaz hops and six specialty malts.

For some products supply can be inconsistent, whether that is at the brewery itself or how often we or its supplier imports it. For products that are out of stock, you can sign up to be notified of its return on the product page. From there, as soon as we book the stock in we send an email to you.

Bottles and labels can and do vary. This means that the images shown on our website may not be the same as current stock items. If the bottle or label is important please check before ordering. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.

Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.

We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.

Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.

We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.

We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.

Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.

If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.

Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.

Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

Please check the tracking first, as they may provide an explanation but we welcome the opportunity to nip issues in the bud. Either call us on 01553 812000 or email our [email protected] to hear from our customer service team. Check out delivery details for more information.

If you have changed your mind for whatever reason, you can consult our returns information, or get in contact on 01553 812000.

  1. Unknown gem

A lot of people will know some of the main brands of Belgian, Delreium, Duvel. Zot if therefore underrated. Lovely to drink, light despite a decent percentage, I visited to brewery in Bruges when visiting and instantly clocked on to a beer that I knew I would enjoy over and over. I will always order this when in stock with Beers of Europe, a must try.

  2. Stujago

This is a very light and smooth beer, very similar to Delirium. It has a lovely frothy head and great carbonation which feel good in the mouth. It has a subtle wheat beer taste and bitter notes. Other Belgian beers have more prominent tastes. 4.25/5

  3. Sharpie

Very nicely balanced 6% blond beer, hoppy, bitter and easy to drink; reasonably priced as well. Easily deserves 4.5 stars, so it gets the 5 instead.

  4. Fin

One of the best Flemish beers on the market in my opinion.

  5. Kate Hitchings

Pleasant blond beer, easy to drink, perfect when chilled. Even better when drunk at it’s home – De Halve Mann brewery in Bruges. But until we can return to Bruges, we will purchase this beer from Beers of Europe!

  6. Richard Bradley

At first taste, it seems like a nice enough Belgian Blonde, but then you notice a lot more complexity, a lovely balance of flavours.

  7. Kris

This is a classic of the genre – one of the best beers of the best type of beers

  8. Belgian Fan

Easy drinking beer with enough hop flavours to make it interesting.

  9. Kristin

Refreshing,, not your typical belgian beer, there is a lot going on in this blond beer

  10. Ian Conway

Oh what a lovely drop. Second only to La Chouffe for Belgian pale beer. This is a mere 6%, so in Belgian terms it’s a session ale! Sip from a large wine glass

  11. Michael Horsley

A beer I have ordered countless times, it’s great, and I was fortunate in 2015 to visit the brewery in Bruges

  12. WJ

I wouldn’t describe this as an ale. For me it has a distinct malty flavour with a hint of spiciness not dissimilar to Leffe. Very nice and not too strong as is often the case with Belgium beers.

  13. Palle Larsen

A nice and fine beer, I got to appreciate in Brugge. So happy I found it in the UK. Nice lovely taste, very smooth and round beer.

  14. Nick S

A beer so good I even bought the glass to go with it. First tried this beer on a visit to the brewery, and have continued to buy back home.

  15. Michael O'Driscoll

One of my favourite Belgian ales, better than leffe, lovely malty taste.

  16. Matthew

    nice Belgian blonde beer

  17. Geoff Jackman

The epitome of the Belgian Blonde Ale. There a couple that I like better but this one is up there with the greats. Despite the 6% strength it feels like an everyday drinking beer; just don’t drive afterwards.

  18. Paul Boniface

A lovely refreshing pale beer that is easy to drink despite being reasonably strong.

  19. Waine Wilkins

Well done Beers of Europe. Quick reliable delivery. I will order from you again.
By the way the beer is very good.
