Ridgeway IPA is an English India Pale Ale from Oxfordshire’s Ridgeway Brewery. Named after the ancient trade route that winds its way through English countryside between small towns, upon which the Ridgeway Brewery is situated. Ridgeway IPA is bottle conditioned, meaning that a small amount of additional yeast is added in the bottling process. The beer continues to ferment slightly in the bottle, developing a natural carbonation and deepening the flavours.
Ridgeway IPA is a classic English IPA, so don’t expect big tropical or piney American hop flavours. Ridgeway IPA is still full of hop oils and bitterness, but the quality is more earthy from the Cascade hops. Buy Ridgeway IPA as a prime example of an English IPA, brewed and bottle conditioned in the traditional style.

Fruity punchy bitter, pale yellow, with a nice citric tanginess. Good bitter palate and dry finish, some sweetness coming through. Gentle aroma, might expect more from a whole hop beer.

Pours a clear dark gold, small foamy soap-sud white head, some retention.
Aroma of biscuit malts, flora, orange zest and grass.
Taste has a floral resinous quality to it but to be fair has some fruitiness and citrus zest, light toastiness in the finish. Fairly bitter throughout.
Nice fairly slick medium bodied mouthfeel with a fine carbonation.
Good.

Beautiful hoppy bottle conditioned old fashioned English IPA, where the hops taste of hops rather than mangoes or whatever. Love it.
