Graham’s Crusted Port is a blend of excellent young ports from two or three harvests, kept in oak casks prior to being bottled without any fining or filtration. Once bottled, this Port is then aged in the Graham’s cellars in Portugal for further three years before being released for sale.
As a blend of different harvests, only the bottling date is allowed to feature on the label.
Graham’s Crusted Port derives its name from the fact, that exactly like Vintage Port it will throw a “crust” or natural deposit with bottle age. As with Vintage Port, the wine should be stored lying down and will require decanting prior to serving. Stand the bottle upright about one hour before opening so as to allow the deposit to settle prior to decanting.
Graham’s Crusted Port has an excellent dark ruby colour. On the nose, is brimming with intensely fresh aromas of red fruits, such as raspberries and redcurrants, and hints of mint and floral notes. On the palate, rich berry fruits and marvellously balanced tannins, with spicy notes and an elegant finish of dark chocolate.
Graham’s Crusted Port can be enjoyed anytime and pairs wonderfully with chocolate desserts, blue or hard cheeses (like Roquefort and mature Cheddar) or even with fruit desserts like cheesecake or cherry pie.
