Black Shuck has been incredibly busy lately and has spent the last few weeks working with government authorities gathering the necessary knowledge, permissions, information, equipment, and resources to enable them to produce Alcohol-Based Hand Sanitiser.

They will not be making this invaluable resource available to the general public and urge them to stay at home and use hot soapy water. Instead, Black Shuck is supplying the health care workers on the front line and other local businesses that are offering essential services in our communities. The first deliveries were made last week.

This is only a temporary measure for Black Shuck they still remain a spirits distillery and continue to offer our Gins, Vodka and liqueurs for online.

They are making the hand sanitiser to help fill the gap while the usual suppliers catch up with demand.

Owners Patrick & Sarah Saunders from Black Shuck said that “Over the last few weeks we have had to overcome several practical and procedural issues to be able to produce hand sanitiser. But this is nothing compared to the work being done by those working tirelessly in hospitals, surgeries, care homes, retail outlets, care agencies and in the ambulances on the ground and in the air.

Exceptional times require exceptional measures and it is clear that communities are stepping up. For Black Shuck this means expediting procedures without compromising quality. This week we received confirmation that our product has been successfully registered as a Cosmetic Product safe for use”.

Yesterday (25th March) they made another 600 litres of sanitiser and will soon be on its way to those working at the sharp end looking after the vulnerable and providing essential services and care for those in urgent need.
