The Original Small Beer Dark Lager is a truly unusual style, mastered by the world’s first brewery to specialise in classic beers below 2.8%. At a logic-defying 1% ABV, Small Beer’s Dark Lager showcases how versatile the colour and aroma of a lager can be when the malt is kilned as far along the spectrum as possible.
Though it pours like a traditional stout or porter, with a roasted coffee-led aroma and a wisp of smoke, this beer drinks like a lager, with a refreshingly bright finish of feather-light dark malt body, achieving winning status at The Great Taste Awards.

I enjoyed this very much – the description is bang on – lovely chocolate caramel notes on the nose which persist gently thru to the finish on the palate. As good as the best Czech full volume dark lagers.

Excellent flavour, just as described. This has now joined my top 3 favourite low-alcohol beers with no added sugar. My other favourites are very hoppy, but this one is completely different. Makes a lovely change.
My other top favourites are Ship IPA and any Coast IPA. Brewdog’s Nanny State is also very good.
