Other Information

Established in 1758, Samuel Smith is Yorkshire’s oldest brewery. They brew a wide range of high quality beers made solely from authentic, natural ingredients. They still use stone Yorkshire squares to ferment their ales and stouts (with the exception of Sovereign and Extra Stout) as well as the same yeast strain used since the 1800s. Samuel Smiths Pure Brewed Organic Lager is brewed with great care using only malted barley, hops, medium-soft water and a bottom-fermenting yeast; matured at low temperatures to bring out its delicate flavour and soft hop-character finish. The cold maturation period allows the bottom-fermenting yeasts to secondary ferment and improve this lager’s flavour, purity and condition.

Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.

Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.

Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.

We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.

We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.

Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.

If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.

Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.

Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

Please check the tracking first, as they may provide an explanation but we welcome the opportunity to nip issues in the bud. Either call us on 01553 812000 or email our [email protected] to hear from our customer service team. Check out delivery details for more information.

  1. Steve Hawkins

Malty essence. Lovely clean flavour when sipped. A floral burst comes through. The finish is malty and very moreish. A lovely choice from a great brewery.

  2. Maximilian Evans

A good malty taste which goes down nicely. An all round good lager, which deserves praise for being organic with a good taste and purity.

  3. Gareth Roberts

Another taste beer from the Sam Smith Brewery.

  4. Darren J Lockwood

It a fairly tasty larger and is 5% ABV

  5. Matt

Satisfying crisp lager, really clean taste. Not the richest malt taste but still a nice, smooth lager

  6. David Gouldson

Clean tasting, refreshing with a subtle hoppiness. Enjoyable lager.

  7. Patrick Geddes-Smith

A refreshing bottled lager. Prefer the draught version but this is great during the lockdown. Clean and tasty.

  8. Geraint Griffith

Great beer worth every penny great taste and smooth to drink

  9. Blinko

I bought this as my usual larger was out of stock and was pleasantly surprised, it’s the best UK made larger I’ve ever tried.

  10. Peter

    a clean and refreshing lager

  11. Andrew Cambs

Lovely smooth lager with a comlex long lasting taste. A real gem!

  12. Derek B

By far the best British lager I have tasted. It is certainly up there with the very best German competition and is much brighter and crisper than all of them.
Sam Smiths are local to me and are a very quirky company but there beers both draught and bottled are second to none.

  13. Richard Allen

Quite light Not particularly complex but with some aftertaste. However, for a British lager, it’s pretty good and pleasantly refreshing if drunk when very chilled. Inoffensive and enjoyable.

  14. Colin A

A very very good lager! Samuel Smith knocks it out of the park again! very drinkable.

  15. Ian A

A delicate refreshing British lager, great for a hot summers day.
The brewery in Tadcaster (Yorkshire) used to be next door to be Grandparents house , so it’s pretty nostalgic for me to drink Sam Smiths as well now.
I’ll be ordering some more, recommended!.

  16. Darren Cooper

Exellent British lager easy drinking and just the right strength.

  17. Matthew W

Clear gold, small white head. Standard look.
Aroma of grainy malts, light fruitiness and grassy hops. No off notes.
Taste of grains, bread, tingle of spice, light fruitiness, moderate grassy bitterness throughout.
Light to medium bodied, short sharp carbonation.
Very good clean well brewed lager

  18. Tom Rapley

Always a bonus when you can enjoy this larger in a pub, which is more and more of a rarity. Crisp, slightly aromatic beer, and unique.

  19. James Russell

Nice clean taste.. I could drink this again and again.

  20. Ricky Crook

Nice fresh crisp taste. Would buy again as it’s organic and beats most lagers I’ve tasted

  21. WJ

As a big fan of all things German this is fabulous stuff, it’s unlike any British brewed beer I’ve had before. It’s not bitter at all, slightly sweet with a hint of spiciness. It tastes lighter than 5% and is very refreshing. Quite pricey for a local brew but well worth it.

  22. Ryan Winson

Really enjoyable, could drink this for days on end

  23. Paul Honey

Great service and speedy delivery as always. Will order again soon. Highly recommended.
