Established in 1758, Samuel Smith is Yorkshire’s oldest brewery. They brew a wide range of high quality beers made solely from authentic, natural ingredients. They still use stone Yorkshire squares to ferment their ales and stouts (with the exception of Sovereign and Extra Stout) as well as the same yeast strain used since the 1800s. Samuel Smiths Organic Wheat Beer is an unfiltered organic beer with a champagne-like effervescence and well refined citrus aroma.

Yes, there are age restrictions in place. In the United Kingdom, the legal age to purchase alcohol is 18 years old. Beers of Europe strictly adheres to these regulations and by agreeing to our Terms and Conditions on checkout you confirm that you are over 18 years old. In store, we operate a Challenge 25 policy, which means that if you appear to be under 25 years old, you will be asked for identification to verify your age.

For some products supply can be inconsistent, whether that is at the brewery itself or how often we or its supplier imports it. For products that are out of stock, you can sign up to be notified of its return on the product page. From there, as soon as we book the stock in we send an email to you.
Bottles and labels can and do vary. This means that the images shown on our website may not be the same as current stock items. If the bottle or label is important please check before ordering. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.
Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.
We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.
We do not have a minimum purchase amount, but delivery charges may apply.

We use a variety of thick and sturdy cardboard boxes and dividers to hold each bottle individually. Any remaining spaces are filled with biodegradable air bags to stop movement of the contents. Glasses are wrapped in bubble wrap and cardboard to ensure they arrived in once piece.
When placing your order please add the details at checkout. We regret that if your order has been packed and is ready to despatch that amendments cannot be made.
All of our orders are shipped without any pricing or payment details, these are in the confirmation email. The only paperwork in the box contains a summary of the order and addresses.
On checkout you can add a message to your order.
Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.
We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.
We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.
Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.
If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.
Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.
Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

This is a very pleasant wheat beer/hefeweizen. It has orangey/citrus notes rather than banana, although there are subtle banana hints. It is very well brewed with a rounded flavour.

Creamy essence. Very similar to Hoegaarden when sipped. Cloves and orange come through. Nice fresh burst of flavour. The finish is creamy and moreish. Nice.

This has become my ‘go to’ wheat beer recently. I first found it online with another beer seller, but Beers of Europe sell it a fair bit cheaper! This is a definite competitor to both German and Belgian wheat beers which do take some beating, but Samuel Smith’s Wheat Beer is up there with the best.

I was looking forward to taste this finally as some of the liquid apple drinks from S. Smiths are my favourite. Unfortunately this wheat beer is like that mainstream wheat beer from Belgium. Too weak and too much banana flavours. Anyway still drinkable.

I really like this wheat beer. It has lots of depth of flavour whilst still being subtle – it doesn’t beat you over the head with banana flavour like some German ones do, and it’s not too sweet like some Belgian ones can be. Very nice!

Thought I’d try this because it’s English but disappointed, especially given the price. Bit thin and watery and lacking sophisticated flavour. Reminded me a bit of Blue Moon. I’ll stick with the superior German stuff

Not as full-bodied as some, but not as weak as others. The bready, yeasty, banana notes are not dialled up to 11, and there’s a gentle spice that balances the profile very well. Sits well on the palate and has a lightly sweet aftertaste with no alcoholic nip.
