Back in 1983 when Harviestoun first started making innovative beer, the whole craft beer thing was just a glint in Harvie’s eye. Now, more than thirty years later they are proud to be the forefathers of this movement to better beer.
Harviestoun is a proud, family run business championing a dedication to the craft that produces award winning, natural brews whilst using the finest ingredients and purest Scottish water from the heart of the untamed Scottish Highlands. Focussing on the quality of their beer has led to them becoming one of the most awarded breweries in the UK.
The Mid Atlantic Ridge is where two tectonic plates meet at almost the midpoint between America and Scotland. With this geological symmetry in mind, Harviestoun have created a union between American Amarillo and British hops. The result is a distinctive US style ale with Scottish origins.
David Gouldson –
Citrusy, hoppy with hints of apples in the aftertaste. Enjoyable beer.
mark burman –
thirst quenching slight sour and bitter finish but well balanced clean finish
Matthew W –
Pours a clear gold with small but tight white head, nice retention and lacing.
Aroma of biscuit malt, floral and light fruity citrus hops.
Taste has an aromatic floral and resin quality about it, some fruitiness in the middle with a dry and moderate bitterness in the finish. An acquired taste this one but it is certainly hoppy.
Medium bodied and chewy.
I like it but not enough to buy another one.
Alan Sinclair –
Lovely looking beer but with only a small head.
Although it is very pale, it tastes more like a bitter.
Lovely tasting and one that I would certainly buy again
