Located on the edge of Cheddar village, near the famous Cheddar Gorge, Cheddar Ales began its artisan brewing activities in October 2006. With a weekly brewing capacity of around 30,000, handcrafting relatively small volumes ensure that Cheddar Ales can concentrate on the character, consistency and quality that lie at the heart of all their beers.
The intricate blend of hops we use in our distinguished Best Bitter provides a clean bitter taste that complements the warm malt flavours perfectly. It is brewed using the best quality Maris Otter and Crystal malts and hopped with a blend of English whole hops.

Amber coloured bitter. Caramel aroma and flavour. Tasty.
Robin Flower –
A very enjoyable well balanced traditional bitter. A good choice for a session beer.

Clear amber with consistent small off-white head. Aroma is big on toasted malt and nuts, quite dry, some sweetness and straw. Toasted malt comes through in flavour, semi-dry and bitter grassy finish. Light to medium bodied. Its ok.
