Kereru Manuka Sahti is a ‘sahti’ – a Finnish-style farm ale flavoured with juniper stems – from Kereru Brewing in New Zealand. The brewery won Champion Small International Brewery at the 2018 Australian International Beer Awards. Kereru Brewing is committed to supporting native New Zealand birdlife – so much so that the brewery is named after the native New Zealand wood pigeon. Kereru Manuka Sahti uses New Zealand manuka leaf in place of the traditional juniper bough, which is added to the boil. Floral orange blossom notes arise from the manuka, complemented by a juicy mouth-feel from the rye malt. Kereru Manuka Sahti is excellent served with rich, savoury dishes such as double Gloucester cheese or roasted chicken.
