LaZiaAle is a speciality beer, a project of the craft brewers of Latium, associated to the A.B.I. Lazio, to enhance the use of barley malt and agricultural ingredients typical of the region and using them as the base ingredients in the recipes for their beers. Each member produces their LaZiaAle based on their own inspiration.
We have added rosemary and artichoke to our interpretation, typical products of the Latium coast, they give aromatic and balsamic notes that strongly characterise and make it a good pairing of the traditional dishes of Latium.

At first taste it is almost like a lager shandy! Has a very distinct sharp ginger like taste and is very mellow and easy drinking. Nice strawnyellow colour and nice flavour.

There is an ever so slight essence of green vegetables. When sipped, it’s a welcoming clean burst of freshness. Very light for a 5.5% lager. The finish is mild rosemary with a hint of bitterness. Interesting!

Curiouser and curiouser! Cried Alice….. cloudy, yellow 5.5 abv lager-style beer, infused with herbs appearing as light particulates. Despite its unusual appearance it is very pleasant, refreshing and clean tasting.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from an artichoke flavoured ale, but in the end, I couldn’t really taste it in the beer. Dark yellow in colour, and pours with a head which dissipated quickly, although the beer was not flat. Slightly pungent and slightly sweet aromas. Taste and aroma of rosemary present (just) . Balanced in flavours with a nice hoppy after taste.

Was slightly perturbed by some of the ingredients in this to say the least (artichoke, rosemary etc..)but pleasantly surprised. Didn’t really get the rosemary or balsamic notes but the artichoke gave this an enjoyably slightly sour element. Looks good, exceeded my expectations. Clean, crisp lager.

Clean, easy drinking but couldn’t make out rosemary or artichoke, just a general woodiness.

Complex beer, pleasant hoppy bitter finish. Sweet aromatic nose
Michael Wallis –
A subtle aromatic herbal spice beer with a sweet floral woody taste.
