Other Information

Founded in 1872, Schneider Weisse Tap 7 Unser Original is brewed according to the original recipe that Georg I. Schneider created. It is brewed using Magnum, Tradition and Hallertauer Hops and Wheat and Barley malts from the region of Kelheim. It is brewed to 5.4% ABV and is a top-fermented beer.

It is amber to mahogany in colour and has a long lasting head. It has an aroma of cloves and nutmeg with some fruits. The palate notices the fresh clean taste of the full bodied wheat beer with a satisfying finish. This can be paired well with hearty meat dishes as well as cheese and olives or just on its own. A real taste of Germany is just on your doorstep.

Bottles and labels can and do vary. This means that the images shown on our website may not be the same as current stock items. If the bottle or label is important please check before ordering. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.

Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.

We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.

Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.

We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.

We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.

Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.

If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.

Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.

Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

Please check the tracking first, as they may provide an explanation but we welcome the opportunity to nip issues in the bud. Either call us on 01553 812000 or email our [email protected] to hear from our customer service team. Check out delivery details for more information.

If you have changed your mind for whatever reason, you can consult our returns information, or get in contact on 01553 812000.

  1. Stujago

This is s very nice, mellow hefeweizen. Like other hefeweizen, the head is very fulsome and expands rapidly. The flavours are mild and not really banana. More a nice tasting soft orange.

  2. Nick

This has been my favourite beer for about 30 years. It is a living beer with the yeast at the bottom, when there is only a bit left at the bottom, turn the bottle to mix in the yeast, it is a complex weisse beer.

  3. Anna

This beer is nothing special when compared to other German beers. It is pleasant and is better than the vast majority of beers that can be purchased in UK supermarkets. However, Schneider Weisse produce other far superior beers.

  4. Richard Martin

A great reputation as a brewery specialising in weissbier. The beer has a great pour and head, but is a little light in colour and so a little less sweet or full in flavour than some of the deeper coloured weissbiers. Also a little on the fizzy side

  5. Peter Brade

Absolutely phenomenal wheat beer. The taste of banana comes through so brilliantly but within the context of a wheat beer, so it avoids that horrible fake taste. You can taste the authenticity, it’s just marvellous.

  6. Eric Akrill

This is another of my favourite wheat beers which always satisfies in appearance, flavour, head and after taste. The colour, a middle of the road, dark blondy-red is the best way I can describe it, with a lovely and lasting frothy head containing fruity and spice aromas. I appreciate the after taste which always leaves me wanting more. Certainly a repeat buy here.

  7. Aaron lundy

Top quality weisse bier. Really enjoyable, not as good as franziskaner or paulaner tho

  8. Aidan Turton

Great beer. Easy to drink, will definitely re order. Nice aftertaste.

  9. Mark Woodward

One of my favourite German beers with a fairly unique ‘edge’ to it. A regular purchase for me. Good price too!

  10. Steven Allen

A foral start that quickly develops into a cloves and then a ginger beer like finish, quite hot and spicy. A pleasant and slightly different variant wheat beer. It’s crying out to be drunk with a hearty roast dinner!

  11. Catriona MacKechnie

One of the best Hefeweizens on the market. Lovely banana and clove flavours. A perfect beer for a sunny day.

  12. Paul C

This is a good quality Hefeweizen.Less sweet than others,it is slightly spicy with a floral after taste.Smooth and easy to drink with a frothy head you have to have another one.!!

  13. Jens

Used to be my go-to Weissbier while at uni in the South of Germany, full-bodied, beautifully rounded flavour and the perfect amount of carbonation to make it very easy-drinking.

  14. Paul Harper

Very good rounded flavour. Tops my list for this style.

  15. Kristin

A good example of a weissbier, refreshing, with a good mouth feel, but not the best of its type, lacks complexity

  16. Neil Ward

This is a really solid and enjoyable German style wheat beer, as you’d perhaps expect for one of the oldest breweries of this kind, but I don’t think it’s anything special.

  17. Kris

I am personally still getting into weissbiers but I enjoyed this interesting number which could be a good gateway into the world of weiss

  18. Al

Big fan of weissbier, and Schneider has a good reputation in this area. Although I did enjoy it, it’s not as good as I was hoping.
Just lacks a little in those typical clove/banana flavours I love about weissbier. Nice carbination with a mild flavour, not bad.

  19. Peter

    a good and refreshing beer

  20. Kul

Amber to straw in colour, a head that lasts, with a rich foam. A wonderful aroma of cloves and christmas. A full bodied wheat beer with depth and a satisfying long finish. One I would buy again and again.

  21. tony branscombe

I have tried nearly all the German hefeweizens and find myself coming back to this beer time after time, despite the mediocre reviews i think this is one of the best available, it pours darker than most and has the usual clove and banana hints with a slightly caramel , fruity spice finish
go for it you will love this beer

  22. Amit Lwow

    Great classic weissbier.
Hazy dark bronze in colour, bubbly thick head, which produces a strong aroma of fruty hops and malt.
Full body and taste, slightly sweet and biscuity. With a bit of spice, banana, and dry fruits on the palate. Top class beer!

  23. Paul Boniface

This is a clean tasting wheat beer and is very enjoyable. Very refreshing and one to have on repeat reorder.

  24. Angela Gordon

Not to heavy and a lovely taste to it. out of 10 i give this a score of 7.

  25. Chris Holmes

Very smooth lovely beer. All the classic weiss tastes and a nice clean pour.

  26. Jonathan Sayers

One-finger head, aggressive carbonation, slightly abrasive mouthfeel, lacking in flavour compared to other weissbiers. I’ve tried this beer more than once. Overall, I was a bit disappointed.

  27. Gareth Williams

One of my favorite beers, so a priviledge to find it in the UK. Lovely taste, refreshing, a bit fuller than a helles beer.
Excellent service as usual, will definitely use again. Highly recommended.

  28. Luke Manley

Very nice beer. Would buy again.

  29. Jonathan Hawkings

Favourite wheat beer so far, beats erdinger and Weihenstephaner hands down

  30. Paul Evans

I like a wheat beer and this is one of the best. Plus, it’s dark!

  31. David Beckham

    Not Schneider weisses best.
    Still drinkable.

  32. JG

Very good, give it a try!

  33. Lee Davies

One of my go to beers- never lets me down
