For some products supply can be inconsistent, whether that is at the brewery itself or how often we or its supplier imports it. For products that are out of stock, you can sign up to be notified of its return on the product page. From there, as soon as we book the stock in we send an email to you.

Bottles and labels can and do vary. This means that the images shown on our website may not be the same as current stock items. If the bottle or label is important please check before ordering. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.

Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.

We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.

We do not have a minimum purchase amount, but delivery charges may apply.

For orders between £25.01 and £60, delivery is charged at £5.99 (3 working days) or £7.99 (next working day).  Some areas are excluded and will incur extra charges. Please see postcodes listed in our Terms and Conditions.

Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.

We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.

We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.

Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.

If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.

Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.

Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

Please check the tracking first, as they may provide an explanation but we welcome the opportunity to nip issues in the bud. Either call us on 01553 812000 or email our [email protected] to hear from our customer service team. Check out delivery details for more information.

If you have changed your mind for whatever reason, you can consult our returns information, or get in contact on 01553 812000.

  1. Anna

If you like smoky beers, then this bottle is for you! I would recommend that everyone should try at least one smoky beer during their lifetime and this is one of the more smoky ones that I have experienced. Love it.

  2. Gareth Roberts

Lovely beer definitely one for a cold winter though

  3. Andy Nichols

If you like a German dark lager or “Dunkel” you’ll love this. So much more intense with the obvious smokey flavours and has a Bon fire note to the nose. So much going on with this beer. Definitely one to pull out to impress at the end of a dinner party or just as an end of an evening beer. I’ll definitely have some stashed at the back of the fridge for such occasions particularly at Christmas! You have to at least try it. It’s awesome.

  4. Jim

Outstanding. Smokiness prevents it being a session ale for me as it is punchy, but simply lovely. Recommended

  5. Darren Richardson

This is the smokiest beer I have ever tasted. It is like someone has bottled the smell of a BBQ and turned it into a drink. A smooth original drink that you wouldn’t get from the usual supermarket shelf.

  6. Pukka P

Never had a smoked beer before and wasn’t sure what to expect. What a pleasant surprise. Very smooth and satisfying and the smokiness isn’t at all overpowering and indeed after the initial few sips the beer becomes quite moreish. Liquid smoky bacon crisps is the best way I can describe the flavour – in a good way!

  7. Richard Allen

Very unusual. Genuinely tastes of burnt wood, but in a way that is much better than you might expect. A long aftertaste and nice carbonation. Well worth trying out just for the experience. I shall buy again, if only for variety.

  8. Rob Colville

Dark, smoky and malty beer from Bamberg. If you’ve not had a rauchbier before this can be a bit of a shock to the system. Hops are there, but not obvious; the flavour profile is all about the smoke and the malt. More aggressively flavoured than Spezial (which as far as I know, is not available in bottles) but still excellent.

  9. Colin

You need to be a fan of smoked beers, which I am. Not too smoky, almost like a cooked breakfast in a glass.

  10. Jens

As other reviewers have said, the bonfire notes are an acquired taste, but once your taste buds have acclimatised this is an immensely enjoyable beer.

  11. Bazlad

    Interesting taste…

  12. Paul C

First ever rauchbier and yes,a unique experience.
This tastes like liquid smokey bacon/BBQ from the first mouthful and for me, eventually, really enjoyable
It’s smooth and moorish with a smokey aftertaste.
    I will have this again.

  13. John Sanders

Rauchbiers are not an acquired taste, in my opinion. You either love this beer or hate it and you love it or hate it for life. My wife hates it, but that means all the more for me.

The pour, deep reddish brown, produces a velvety, creamy head with good lacing that persists. The aroma is smoky, smoky, smoky – not far off ham or bacon, but almost ‘woody’. The smoke is there in the taste too, but there is a lot of malt which is balanced well by a generous hop hit. Finally the mouthfeel – silky-smooth, leaving a tingling on the roof of the mouth.

  14. Kristin

I like the taste of this beer, but I keep smelling it as I drink it and that smell just reminds me of an ash tray. Having rated the wheat Schlenkerla higher I guess I just have to accept I prefer smoke in moderation

  15. Chris Meechan

Possibly the most famous Rauchbier in the world, the flavours are quite outrageous with a smoked almost ham like taste. As such it pairs well with cured meats and strong cheeses. It’s not for everyone but keep an open mind and you might just enjoy it.

  16. John J

Awesome, one of my favourites for a smoky BBQ sensation. The wheat gives it the right amount of body, not to malty and delicious on its own or with baltic kepta bar snacks. Always have a bottle on xmas!

  17. David Hanson

Very decent smokey marzen, wood smoke & bitter but enough sweetness to balance.

  18. Mick White

Superb Rauchbier from Bamberg. An absolute favourite. Swift delivery from Beers of Europe.

  19. Steven Nicholas

Brown body and reasonable head. Taste is like bacon but not overpoweringly so and still maintains refreshment value. A fairly unique beer you must try at least once.
