Lovely caramel flavour, an amazing beer. Smooth and dangerously easy drinking for a 9.2% beer. Perfect sweetness for me and poured with a nice head. Can’t fault it

I don’t like beer with a bitter taste so this one is perfect. It’s strong, delicious and in a big bottle!

Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is dark malty and caramelish. Roasted malty and slight fruity. Mild fruity and malty finish.

Wow…. great flavours from the malts a sweet caramel/toffee/fruity taste finished with that warm feeling off soft alcohol at the end.If you enjoy dark beers this is for you,if you don’t well don’t buy or review it.

The beer was lightly carbonated, with an amber colour, fruity taste without any bitterness. At 9.2% it surprised me how easy to drink this beer is, but be warned if you have too many you might end up with a case of wobbly legs!

Strong and ever so slightly sweet. A perfect sipper on a cold winter evening!

Saved this for New Year’s Eve.
With an ABV of 9.2 % this a deceptively easy drink.
Dark amber,it has a caramel and licquorice taste and sweet malty aromas.
Finishes with a warm aftertaste.
Could be a long night !!

This slightly crazy beer was a highlight among the (all excellent) “Twelve Beers of Christmas – Germany” 2021 selection. Planning to buy extra bottles of this as well as the hoped-for 2022 Christmas case.

I didn’t realise beer could be this sweet, it’s not crisp at all and very indulgent. Goes down rather too easily for the strength, very enjoyable but 2 is probably the limit.

The abv comes across a tad too strong but that’s to be expected in Eisbocks. Overly sweet for my liking too, almost like sipping syrup
Steve Baxter –
A excellent winter ale from Germany, sweet, malty ,strong in abv, rich in taste, taste of liquorice as well.
First enjoyed this in the classic 12 beers of Xmas, German ales ,all were excellent

A wintery brew that packs a punch! Lovely rounded sweetness with a profoundly malty smoothness. A bit of an alcohol burn to finish, but that’s to be expected with such a high ABV. Warms the gut on a chill Christmas eve, that’s for sure.

Great beer. Would buy again.

Very nice winter ale, surprising at 9.2% it’s so easy to drink, with a good spicy after taste
