Hacker Pschorr Muncher Dunkel (5% ABV) is a Munich Dunkel Lager style beer brewed by Hacker-Pschorr Bräu GmbH in München, Germany. The forgotten child of Munich’s Big Six breweries, Hacker-Pschorr doesn’t miss often and they haven’t missed here.
The beer is dark brown with red-brown around the edges with a terrific head that stays all the way down. It is slightly sweet and shows some banana notes, which you would expect from a dunkel. The Munich malt gives it a distinct roasted flavour with hints of chocolate and coffee. An excellent match with savory meat dishes makes it an ideal partner with a barbecue

This has a malty plum and dark fruit taste to it. It’s very smooth and reasonably rich. Quite similar to the Paulaner dunkel but the fruit taste isn’t as strong. I would drink again but not frequently.

From the king of Oktoberfest here is the Hacker Pschorr Muncher Dunkel. What a fine dunkel this is. For those who like a malty, chocolatey beer this one is for you.

Nice dark brown colour and foamy head when poured. Crisp first taste and then a surprising aftertaste slightly of coffee. Fairly low fizz which makes for easier drinking.

I like the taste of this. They say it is a kind of lager beer, but it tastes nothing like any lager I have ever had ! Full bodied, dark and full of flavour. This one is definitely on my shopping list again in the future.

Lovely stuff. Made using a lager process but the product is nowhere near what that name suggests to most people. Slightly lighter in colour than some Dunkel beers, this one is a rich ruby-red to dark-brown with a creamy head. A malty aroma and flavour with a lingering aftertaste. A truly excellent beer which I could drink all night!

Full bodied with a ruby- brown colour,it pours with a smooth creamy head.
You are met with rich roasted malty aromas.
The distinctive tastes are chocolate, coffee and liquorice.
Easy, enjoyable drink.

Beautiful dark red brown colour with a fantastic off white, slightly mocha coloured head that stays all the way to the bottom of the glass. It is slightly sweet and shows some bready & banana notes. Silky on the tongue with a great body. A beer I would welcome back again and again.
Chris H –
A real pleasant chocolate maltiness with smooth roasted notes. A very solid Dunkel that I’d happily buy again.

I have enjoyed the other Hacker-Pshorrs I have tried and always a fan of a Dunkel. This version delivers those malty flavours well and I would definitely order again.

If you like coffee you will like this. I don’t but still enjoyed it, very interesting flavour and worth a try.
