Diebels Altbier Alkoholfrei is an alcohol-free altbier from German brewery, Diebels. Founded in 1878 in the Lower Rhine region of Germany, until the 1970’s Diebels brewed all kinds of German beer. However, in 1977 the decision was made to be famous for one particular style: Altbier. Altbier is a German hybrid between an ale and lager – brewed with top-fermenting yeast, in the style of a lager. The result is a darker, fruitier beer.
Diebels Altbier Alkoholfrei is an alcohol-free variant of the signature Diebels Altbier and is ideal for when you want the full taste of a beer, without the effects of alcohol. Buy Diebels Altbier Alkoholfrei for a fruity, flavourful amber drink designed for refreshment.

Considering that you have to take into account that this is “alcohol free”, this is fairly good. I think the Altbier style suffers more than some of the lagers, compared to it’s alcohol equivalent but it’s not at all unpleasant and closer to it’s grown up brother than Becks Blue is to a lager. If you like Altbier then this is worth a punt.

Very good indeed, I found it best served not too cold to get the best out of its flavour.

Brilliant dark beer. Brilliant.
