Brauerei Königshofer Alt is a German altbier from Brauerei Königshofer. Formed in 2007, Brauerei Königshofer is fairly new on the German brewing scene. Brauerei Königshofer Alt was the first beer brewed at the new brewery and is a lighter take on a traditional altbier, a style originating from the Lower Rhine region. Altbier is an old-style lager, brewed with top-fermenting yeast.
Brauerei Königshofer Alt offers up fruity aromas, caramel and malt from the dark amber beer. The flavour is bready and moderately bitter, with a dry finish. Buy Brauerei Königshofer Alt for a fruity, well-hopped lager from a modern German brewery.

Dark red-brown colored with vanishing yellow head. Somehow skunky-sweet aroma with caramel and grains. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is thin with sweet start, caramel and lemon here. Aftertaste dries with mild hops, lemon also lasts. Round one.

Superb Beer and Super Value . Give This A Try . Its best served iin a frosted glass , or at least ice cold in a small German Beer glass which you can also buy from this site. A +++++++

Very decent Altbeir. Drinks well, slightly sweet but good bitter aftertaste.

I’m a sucker for altbiers. Lovely bitter, malty taste. Great price on this one.

I’m not an expert on Alt beers and by them occasionally as a change from my normal range of German beers.. So in truth, I’d be unable to say whether this was a good or average one. That said, I can comment as to how I find it just as a beer. And I like it and would buy it again. It has a dark brown colour and good aroma. The taste, compared to other German beer styles is woody, roasted and closer to a British ale style. Nice change from my Weiss and Pils.

This is very interesting beer. Pours a brown amber colour, it has a slightly spicy taste with just a hint of coffee. I wouldn’t describe it was sweet but it’s not bitter either. Well worth a try.

Lovely rich red-brown colour and a creamy head. Malty sweet aroma hints at a well-balanced beer. Slight sweetness, bitterness and a gentle malty finish delivers on that promise. An excellent Alt, one of the best I’ve tried and superb value at today’s price of under 2 quid per 500ml bottle.

Lovely dark Amber colour, with a nice creamy head.
Again low carbonation, giving hints of Toffee on the tongue.
I believe this needs to drank nice and cold for a better experience.
Good for the price 👍

Whilst I am used to amore full bodied Alt Beer this was refreshing for a warmer day and had a decent aftertaste and was value for money.

This was a lovely alt for a summers picnic, the body of a pilsner yet more depth.

Bought to make the order up to the free postage Shared the one bottle with my husband & we really enjoyed it

Very good but i actually liked the pilsner better. This does not seem as crisp, personal tastes differ of course, still worth a place in the fridge though.

Great service fast efficient great communication packed well and priced fairly for a German Alt beer like out bitters but a little sweetness in my opinion and I have been drinking this type of beer since the mid 80tys when I was first introduced to this style of beer.
