Berliner Kindl Weisse is a Berliner Weisse from Berliner Kindl Brauerei in Berlin, Germany. Founded in 1872, the brewery was one of the first to brew a bottom-fermenting pilsner lager in Germany. Colloquially known as ‘Northern Champagne’ for its fine carbonation, Berliner Weisse is a regional speciality of Berlin. A sour, mildly hopped wheat beer with a refreshing flavour, Berliner Weisse beers are typically lower in strength at around 2.5-3.5% ABV. Pouring a hazy pale straw colour, Berliner Kindl Weisse offers up bitter lemon, wheat and tart funky aromas. The flavour is moderately sour, with a crisp, clean mouthfeel and refreshing citrus zing. Buy Berliner Kindl Weisse for a shining example of the style from one of Berlin’s remaining specialist Berliner Weisse breweries.
