Waterloo Strong Dark is a craft beer brewed since 1456. Recognised in 1815 for giving “strength” during the battle of Waterloo, its old style brewing gives this beer a powerful, spicy taste.
A coffee nose is combined with a tone of roots but with a strong, disciplined character and a flavour that gradually develops. Strong and reassuring, it provides a conclusion that tends primarily towards the sweet at the finish, a symbol of a well-deserved treat at the end of a busy day.

This was new to me. A pleasant dark beer, reminiscent of a porter.

We have always liked this one since first trying it in Belgium. Full of flavour. Great for drinking with a Belgian style meal.

Pours a dark cola ruby colour with a beige head Smells of woody malts there is also weak spice My palate detects burnt sugar, biscuits, molasses faint mint. A sweet strong brown ale. It obviously relies on the label and history heavily for sales . Almost two years ago I was given a bottle of this beer that at the time was a four years out of date. The comparison leads me to believe that this is not a beer that keeps that well so drink up and display the empties on your shelf.
