Struise Black Damnation XXII – Willy is an imperial stout from Belgian brewery, De Struise. The brewery was born out of a small barn on an ostrich farm, and the name ‘Struise’ comes from the Flemish slang for ‘ostrich’. Part of the ‘Black Damnation’ series, a limited edition run of barrel-aged imperial stouts, with only 2,000 bottles of this particular beer produced.
Struise Black Damnation XXII – Willy takes the brewery’s Black Albert stout and barrel ages it in 16 years old Clynelish Wilson & Morgan whiskey casks. The aroma of roasted malts and a little soy sauce rises from the beer. The whiskey imparts a smoky, dark chocolate flavour to the beer.
