Struise Black Damnation XVII – Ben is an imperial stout from Belgian brewery, De Struise. The brewery was born out of a small barn on an ostrich farm, and the name ‘Struise’ comes from the Flemish slang for ‘ostrich’. The brewery has achieved a lot since their conception in 2001 and was voted Best Brewery in the World by the members of Rate Beer in 2008.
Struise Black Damnation XVII – Ben takes the brewery’s infamous Black Albert beer, and ages it in Benriach 12-year-old Scotch whisky barrels. The inky-black beer takes on an oaky, balsamic-vinegar aroma, with notes of chocolate, roasted malts and liquorice. A strong, complex imperial stout, buy Struise Black Damnation XVII – Ben to sample a limited edition brew from Belgian artisan brewers, De Struise.
