Grain d’Orge Joup is a Belgian abbey dubbel beer from Brasserie Grain d’Orge. Brasserie Grain d’Orge is a small brewery and pub in a little village near the border with Germany and the Netherlands.
Grain d’Orge Joup pours a deep reddish-brown colour, with a creamy head. The use of special malts in the brew gives a rich caramel flavour, with a smooth, rounded mouthfeel. Strong in alcohol content but low in bitterness, Grain d’Orge Joup is a rich, malty beer with plenty of character. Buy Grain d’Orge Joup to taste a classic abbey dubbel from a modern Belgian microbrewery.

A good beer, with lots of malty flavour, but not overbearingly so. Well worth the money

This is not a typical Dubbel. To me the flavour is very spicy (assume from the hops) rather than malty

In the glass appears a deep russet with creamy head In the nose I get prunes pepper toast Tastes of dates roasted grains coriander with a strong alcohol tang. Fair attempt at a red/ brown ale dubbel cross am glad I tried it.

Bottle conditioned and very lively resulting in a long slow pour. Nice creamy head, pleasant fruity flavours and malty overtones. Easy drinking and moreish.
