Bonsecours Ambree is a beautiful red colour with a subtle mix of pale caramelised malts. Second fermentation in the bottle gives it its unique flavours.
The head is abundant and consistent. The nose reveals directly a distinctive aroma of malt. On the palate it is dry and develops a long and delicate bitterness, backed by a hint of hops.
Bonsecours Ambree –
Like its stable-mate, Bonsecours Blonde, from Brasserie Caulier in the village of Peruwelz (pronounced Perrway) in southern Belgium, very close to the French border, this is powerful stuff (8% ABV) but not just that – it’s gorgeous to look at – and a truly magnificent taste!
Mark Charrington –
really lively on opening so poured murky amber with a huge head Aromas of candy peanuts and coffee Tastes include malty dark fruit sponge cake with sherry. A lively tasty brown, red ale that is highly drinkable and full of flavour.
