Bass is a pale ale that has had many different homes over the years, but since Interbrews takeover of the company in 2000, it is brewed under license in Leuven, Belgium, which is where our stock is from. It is brewed at 5%, which makes it perfect for exporting to the UK.
Made from hops, malt, water and English yeast, it has all the ingredients of a fine English Pale Ale. It has a distinctively hoppy taste, with a rich aroma and a spicy finish. The ideal serving temperature for this well rounded Belgian is 5-6 degrees and it makes for a very easy to drink pale ale.

Appears clear copper has a small white head Aromas include malt biscuits Tastes of caramel malt and toffee ends with bitter hops. Simply nothing too surprising here glad the Bass apple has not fallen too far from the original tree but a full well kept pint from a cask would easily earn at least an extra star.

A smooth, malt-forward sweetness is balanced out with a subtle hop profile. Nothing to write home about with regard to this brew, but a satisfying and refreshing pale ale nevertheless.
