Engelszell Nivard Trappistenbier is an authentic Trappist blonde ale from Austrian brewery, Stift Engelszell. Engelszell Abbey was authenticated by the International Trappist Association in 2012, and at the time was only the second brewery outside Belgium to be given accredited Trappist status.
Pouring a hazy honey-gold colour, Engelszell Nivard Trappistenbier offers up classic Belgian beer aromas of banana and spicy yeast. The flavour is fruity and fresh, with caramel malt and a hint of pithy orange bitterness. Buy Engelszell Nivard Trappistenbier for a refreshing, authentic Trappist blonde ale from Austrian brewery, Engelszell.

An excellent full flavoured pale ale typical of the style one would expect to find in Belgium. Sweet hoppy notes with a wheat flavour similar to a good hefeweizen, or pale wheat ale.
Otto The Bierdude –
Golden with huge white head; aroma is fruity yeasty, banana, soft malty; taste is low to medium sweet, fruity, some banana, finish is spicy yeasty with some bitterness

Unlike the German kellerbier style Engelszell Zwickl this is much more comparable to the typical Belgian style Trappist and abbey beers. A hazy, yeasty, pleasant beer, but not quite up to the standard of the Belgian Trappists.
