Viven Champagner Weisse is a wheat beer brewed by Belgian brewery, Brouwerij Van Viven. Viven brewery strives to apply Flemish brewing art to non-Flemish beers, creating a range of unique speciality beers, including an imperial IPA and a smoked porter. Viven Champagner Weisse uses champagne yeast to give a fine, champagne sparkle and a dry finish.
Viven Champagner Weisse pours a hazy pale yellow colour, with enticing aromas of spices and fruit rising from the beer. The flavour is fruity, with a dry finish, and the delicate champagne sparkle adds a refined quality to this Belgian wheat beer. When first poured, this wheat beer has a very light look to it and also a fairly creamy head which seems to hold. It has a light nose with hints of spice and fruit but with a rather sweet scent. The taste bears this out, some hoppiness though this is slight, it has a dry taste to it which is not displeasing. There is a failry sweet after taste, too, without the bitterness of some wheats. It is a bit pricey, but worth a punt just to say you have tried it. A very different taste to normal.

This tastes in many ways like a lighter version of a witbier, but it has an added smokiness on the finish. Quite distinctive and rather pleasant.

A party in my mouth with the champagne style fizz but also delivered on the intriguing wheat flavours.

An example of what a different way of serving can do to the beer. started with small head, 5°C, tulip glass and higher carbonation- tasted OK. switched to a dimple glass, thick head and around 7 °C-thicker, chewy, pineapple, some cream, apricot and honey notes with long lasting medium bitter finish. excellent
