Cockburn’s Special Reserve is a Port from Cockburn’s & Co. Produced in Portugal, Cockburn’s started out life as a wine merchant in Edinburgh, before setting up a branch in Porto shortly after, and beginning to produce Port. The grapes that go into Cockburn’s Special Reserve are trodden in the traditional method to release their juices, before being laid to rest in seasoned wood barrels.
Cockburn’s Special Reserve is ripe and fruity, with a softness from the ageing process. The flavours of plum, blackberry and cherry mingle with bitter dark chocolate and vanilla. A velvety, sumptuous Port, Cockburn’s Special Reserve is perfect for a special occasion – or simply to treat yourself alongside a perfectly ripe hunk of cheese.
