The distilling of whisky was made legal in 1815 and Archibald Lauder was soon to exploit this with Lauder’s Finest Scotch Whiskey first appearing in 1834, making it one of the oldest licensed blenders in the country. The precise blend was developed over 175 years ago in Glasgow and went on to win several international awards for the blend, which are still visible on the label today.
It is made from Highland, Lowland and Speyside malts and matured in oak barrels to the same specification it was in the original blend. It is a full bodied whisky with light and fruit tones, which are clear on the aroma. Notes of caramel sweetness as well as cereal are available for the delight of the palate with a medium length finish that possesses a lingering oak dryness.
