First produced in 2006, Benromach Organic was the first of its kind to be certified organic, from growing the ingredients, distilling the mash, maturing in the casks and then bottling. This has met the rigorous standards of the UK Soil Association to be certified, giving an idea of the dedication distilleries go through to be a pioneer in the field. A dram of Benromach Organic, from Speyside, showcases a golden brown colour, which it gets from the virgin oak casks used in maturing the whisky. The aroma of the spirit is sweet with notes of toffee, vanilla and banana apparent. The palate detects flavours of pepper and fruit with the returning banana most prominent. Water can be added to the whisky to reveal another layer of complexity. Temptation lurks in this well balanced spirit with a long, smooth finish.
Benromach Organic is certified organic throughout the production process and meets the UK Soil Association standards for growing the ingredients, distillation, maturation and bottling.
