Bullards Celebration Gin

Bullards Celebration Gin

Bullards Gin

To celebrate the Canaries both winning the league and being promoted, the club’s gin partner Bullards has launched a limited edition ‘Celebration Gin’.

Bullards, as the official Norwich City gin partner, will produce a batch of only 2019 numbered bottles to be sold locally including in store and online at Beers of Europe

The Premier League bottle boasts Daniel Farke’s famous celebration on the front, as well as being finished with yellow and green ribbons and an OTBC seal.

An eye catching presentation and something that both gin and football fans will be keen to get their hands on.

Sam Jeffery, Head of Partnerships at Norwich City FC says – “We are delighted to be collaborating with Club partner Bullard’s to bring this limited edition gin to our fans. Bullard’s are a great local brand and one we are proud to have on our portfolio, and they’ve produced something pretty iconic here that I think captures the euphoria of this incredible season.”

As well as having a classic serving suggestion card, Bullard’s has also printed Norwich City’s journey to the Premier League on the card accompanying the bottle – making it a treat for football and gin fans alike.

Beers of Europe Catch Up With Bullards Marketing Manager Amy Hancock

Q: Who are you/what do you do?
A: Amy Hancock, Head of Marketing at Bullards Gin

Q: What was the inspiration for starting the distillery?
A: I believe it was all fuelled simply by a passion for great gin

Q: Where do you see, or hope to see, the distillery in 5 years’ time?
A: We are currently developing our new bespoke built distillery in the centre of Norwich, which will include distillery tours and tastings with an upstairs bar and restaurant. In 5 years we hope to be up there with the cathedral and the castle as one of Norwich’s top visitor attractions.

Q: Are there any other distilleries which have influenced Bullards?
A: We are big fans of The East London Liquor Company.

Q: The gin movement seems to be going from strength to strength. Why do you think Gin has been such a great success in recent years?
A:  The consumer is drinking less but looking for quality, The beer and the gin markets are fresh and innovative and this keeps the consumer engaged and thirsty!

Q: What do you see as the latest Gin styles to look out for in 2019/20?
A: Old Tom Gin is a Style to look out for, we do one distilled with Mango and Norfolk Honey, it’s a lovely sipping gin and is great just on the rocks.

Q: Many distilleries are experimenting with adding unusual flavours to their gins. Are there any you think work well together and are there any you would like to try?
A: There are many I have tried and never will again!! Experimenting with flavours and getting it right takes real talent.  Personally, I don’t like a sweet gin – I really love a good traditional London Dry.

Looking ahead, what new stuff can we expect from Bullards?
A: Our distillers often do one off experimenations and these will be available from our New Distillery Tasting room when it opens later in the year.  They do an incredible Distilled Negroni which is dangerously drinkable!

Q: What is the best part of your job?
A: Being as creative as I want to be and getting to drink a lot of gin!

What was your first drink and where were you when you had it?
A : If we are talking « craft » then it will have to be Jaipur from Thornbridge.  It was 2009, I was in The Plasterers in Norwich and it blew my mind ! Also Gin Mare – I first tasted this in Spain at their distillery and it just tasted and smelt like the méditerrané

Q: If you have to pick (we know, tough choice!) which would be your top three Gins in the whole world?
A: Bullards London Dry, Gin Mare, Harris Gin

Q: You are stuck on a desert island, what three things are you taking with you?
A: My Dog and a tennis ball and a Hammock – She will keep me entertained for hours!

Q: What drink can you no longer face having had one too many?
A: Tequilla… -Never again!

Q: What is the silliest thing you’ve done whilst drunk?
A: Fallen off my bicyle and broken my knee cap!  Don’t drink and bike folks!
