Established in 1758, Samuel Smith is Yorkshire’s oldest brewery. They brew a wide range of high quality beers made solely from authentic, natural ingredients. They still use stone Yorkshire squares to ferment their ales and stouts (with the exception of Sovereign and Extra Stout) as well as the same yeast strain used since the 1800s. Samuel Smiths Winter Welcome Ale is a seasonal, limited edition beer brewed for the short days and long nights of winter. Fermentation in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ results in a full body and luxurious malt character which is balanced against whole dried Fuggle and Golding hops with nuances and complexities.
