Ridgeway Hamster of Doom is a modern brown ale from Oxfordshire’s Ridgeway Brewing. Ridgeway Brewing is named after The Ridgeway, Britain’s oldest road. A trade route used since prehistoric times by tradesmen, herdsmen and soldiers, The Ridgeway provided access to the Dorset coast in the south and the coast of Norfolk to the east.
Hamster of Doom is a modern take on a classic brown ale. The beer retains its malty character, with an injection of classic English hops to add an extra dimension to the beer. Pouring a chestnut brown colour, Ridgeway Hamster of Doom offers up toasted aromas on the nose. The flavour of caramel and roasted malt mingles with grassy English hop flavours, drawing to a dry finish. Very pleasant and moreish malty ale with a burnt caramel, full bodied sweetness. Pour into the glass and allow to air for a few minutes before enjoying.

Deep amber coloured. Subtle chocolate aroma, fruity flavours and quite sweet. Decent beer.
Chris H –
Pretty good brown ale. Interesting malty notes fuse well with a drier hopped taste. Pours well too.
Peter –
Not a bad brown ale it’s fairly easy drinking considering it’s strength
Elle M –
A very pleasant and Malty Brown ale, surprising ABV but one that is welcomed
Alan Sinclair –
OK beer with quite a strong flavour. Doesn’t taste much like a Brown Ale to me though. It’s more like a bitter.
David Winter –
A very good beer. Toasted malts, nutty, light hop influence, bitter-sweet balance giving a near-sour edge.
Matthew W –
Pours a clear brown with small off white head. This one tuned out to be quite a sweet brown ale but enough bitterness to balance. Notes of brown sugar, toasted malt, caramel, nuts, hint of mixed dried fruit, light floral hopping. Medium bodied with a crisp bite to it. Good stuff.
